The YAMAHA Disklavier piano's tone generation system completes the additional backgrounds via 16-channels of MIDI to complete the rest of the song. Some have asked about the "low notes" that come out when I hit those two keys up top - those are guitar effects built in the patch and for whatever reason, Yamaha put those effects on the high keys. I made the background beat using FL Studio. I start the beat by hitting the space-bar on my computer keyboard before I play on the synth. PS. I've read some reviews of this vid as if I'm trying to be a "keytar" player (apparently not a desirable thing, but how can you not like Edgar Winter's "Frankenstein") and that I should just play a real guitar. LOL @ some of those same people who probably play guitar hero (nothing against it but hopefully you see my point)! The irony! The point is, folks, if you find a fun/inspiring sound to jam with, by all means, you should JAM WITH IT! I don't care if you find a $3.00 plastic trumpet. The voice you hear, is what they hear as well. My theory is that many people do not expect a girl to be playing this video game or to be on the microphones. So they just automatically assume it is a gay guy or a little boy who sounds like a girl. HOW DO YOU FIND THESE GUYS? Finding boosters is not a very hard issue. Finding boosters with MICs who are going to talk is a lot harder. I enter and leave many lobbies looking for boosters with microphones. Most of the time the Boosters have muted everyone so they cannot hear me yell at them. Or they hear me and leave almost instantly. It takes a while to get lucky and actually speak to ones willing to look like complete idiots. I got the second set of footage in this video right away today. Probably my second game. The first set of footage I got about 2 hours later. It is a matter of luck. My win/loss ratio is 0.41 from looking from boosters. (I don't lose that much!!! LOL) It counts as a loss every time you leave a game. WHY DON'T YOU LIKE BOOSTING? I use to play a lot of free for all and lose games in which I had been doing very well in. I can't tell you how many people requested this, haha...sorry I can't keep track, but thank you to everyone that did! Part of Your World is literally my favorite song of all time, and it was one of the very first songs I ever uploaded to YouTube. Of course that was year ago now, and I wasn't in costume or even really trying to look or sound like Ariel. I was just a girl having fun singing in her bedroom. I love this riff but I really struggled with the syncopated bit when I was learning it as a teenager, so I have included that section as well as the main riff in this guitar lessons. It's super cool but you will probably want to practice it at a slower speed to get it right - see the transcribing area of my web site for more info on that and the Transcribe! program. We record with a Neumann mic on Logic Pro in our house. When we do live videos, we use a Canon Vixia, and the little mic on that is what picks up our voices. That little mic sounds nothing like it would if you were actually in our living room when we record -- it can't pick up the full dynamic range, and everything is always out of balance because someone is always closer to or farther from the mic. Our piano never sounds right either -- in real life it sounds warm and rich, on the camera mic it sounds like a small piano that's been beat to death for years. I pre recorded everything using only Garageband and thought making a music video would be a fun way to show what you can do with Garageband for the iPad. The song is called "love me, leave me" and is not available for download. (sorry) ----- The iPad used in this video is the iPad 2. It's got a camera on the front and the back. The back camera is an HD camera but the front isn't. I downloaded Garageband for the iPad 2. It allows you to create songs on the go, up to 8 tracks. Garageband for the iPad 1 and 2 comes standard with numerous sounds like pianos, guitars, synths, basses, drums and even a sampler. It's also got a built in amplifier which allows you to plug your electric guitar in the iPad 1 & 2! You can also record vocals using the iPad microphone which I did in this song. It sounds pretty decent and it's even got little features like echo and reverb that you can add to your tracks. The Garageband app is available in the appstore on your iPad 1 or iPad 2 and is not compatible with an iPod or iPhone. It costs $5. I'd recommend it but don't expect professional recordings.
