PORTLAND, Ore. -- Police are hoping the public can help identify several kids who stormed a local gas station this past Saturday night and stole everything they could grab. On the surveillance video, one person came into the Chevron convenience store on SE 92nd and Foster. Then a second person came in and pretty soon, a large group of kids was packed into the shop. Soon, they were stealing anything they could, from drinks to gum to candy Carlos Garcia was working Saturday night at around 11:30 pm when the incident happened. He said there were 16 kids in the store. Garcia said the kids grabbed anything they could and shoved items into their pockets or simply carrying them in their hands and out the door. "My first reaction was call police because I can't do more," he said. "I don't want to hurt them -- they're kids. I called the police. They don't stop they're just picking picking as much as they can." As the kids were leaving the store, there was some sort of confrontation. It didn't end there, though. The thieves came back to the parking lot, which is when Garcia said they started throwing things at him. Garcia promptly grabbed a baseball bat and scared the kids off. Portland Police are investigating. Employees at the store are hoping someone can recognize the kids and call police.

Hundreds Unexpectedly Broke Out in Viral Dance at Clackamas Town Center Portland, Oregon Saturday, September 5th, 2009 Portland Improv, a social experiment and performing arts group known to push the limits on the social norm, hosted their latest event, dubbed, Lets Dance!, at the Clackamas Town Clackamas Town Center at two oclock pm within the main mall corridor in front of the Macys Home Furniture Store. An audio track began playing through the mall speaker system, and two dancers began performing before the unsuspecting shoppers, this was followed by more and more of our dancers until all 120 were showing off their choreographed moves. The dance (1:20 min. long) then ended just as quickly as it began. When the music stopped all of the dancers simply dissipated into the rest of the crowd, leaving no explanation. Portland Improv is a collective mainly comprised of college students who like to provoke joy and create scenes in public places. Lets Dance! was Portland Improvs sixth event in Portland, the most famous of which being the Portland Freeze. The group coordinated over 1500 participants and had them all strike a pose and hold it for 5 minutes within the Pioneer Courthouse Square to literally freeze time. There were pervasive games, loads of make-up artists and lots of people taking part in a truly scary event. For one day only, there were frightening farmers, chilling performances, and swarms of Zombies roaming the stores hunting for their next victim! The only way to stop the Zombie shop-fest was to get involved. We created a deadly pervasive game for young people to play using cutting-edge technologies and cunning clues to hunt for around Eccles shopping centre, leading to the antidote for the Zombie curse. Young people from Salford Lads Club did an amazing flash mob dance to Michael Jackson's thriller in the middle of the shopping centre, attracting a lively audience of local farmers and shoppers.
