He's won 3 championships in Super GT GT300 class - 3 years in a row, in 3 different teams, and 3 different cars (NSX, MR-S, RX-7). That's why when Subaru first came to race in Super GT in 2007, Yamano was picked as their driver. It hadn't been easy though - RWD modded Impreza, nor 4WD Subaru Legacy had too many natural disadvantages. But having struggled for 5 years with Subaru, Yamano (and Subaru) had surely developed a race car that could win. In 2012, Yamano as a BRZ GT300 driver owes a huge responsibility and pressure to win the race.
