Good thing this super easy meal is also one of my family's favorites. I stopped at the store on the way home from work and picked up three ingredients: Skirt steak (my go-to cut), Swiss chard, and a baguette. I had the other ingredients at home (and I bet you do, too): Garlic, olive oil, salt and pepper. We were sitting down to dinner half an hour after I walked in the door. Try it tonight! Ingredients 1 pound skirt steak, patted dry 1 large bunch Swiss chard (1 1/2 pounds) 1 baguette 3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil 3 garlic cloves Coarse salt and ground pepper Get Cooking 1. Heat broiler, with rack in middle position. Peel and thinly slice garlic, add to a small saucepan with oil, and set over medium heat. Once it begins to bubble, remove from heat and let sit. Rinse chard, and allow some water to stay on the leaves. Thinly slice stems about ½ in thick, and chop leaves into bit-size pieces, making sure to keep them separate since they take different amount of time to cook. Split the baguette lengthwise, and brush with the garlic oil. Then, heat a large skillet over medium high, and cut steak into 4 pieces and season with salt and pepper.
