She, born in Lwów in 1904 as a daughter of well known actor Władysław Roman, after studies of acting and singing with best Polish artists (Wanda Siemaszkowa, Tekla Trapszo, Ada Sari) started her artistic career in Warsaw in late 1920s in the famous Reduta theatre directed by Juliusz Osterwa. Later, she joined another famous actors trouppe of Aleksander Zelwerowicz, in Teatr Polski. A serious theatrical career did not stop her from using her sophisticated genre, her enormous talent and artistic temperamerent in the operettas (Teatr Letni) and revues (Banda, Morskie Oko). In 1930s she also sung at Polish Radio becoming, for thousands of listeners one of their favourities, she also recorded for Syrena-Electro. During 2nd World War she joined the actors' boycott of Warsaw stages administered by the Germans, and worked as waitress at cafe U Aktorek giving clandestine recitals of Polish national music in private homes. After 1945 she continued her career performing on stages of Cracow, Łódź and finally back in Warsaw, where for decades she was enjoying with her great art next two generations of Polish conoisseurs. In 1991 she died in Warsaw peacefully, in perfect state of her <b>...</b>
