Tallulah Gorge - Georgia State Parks
gastateparks.org One of the most spectacular canyons in the eastern US, Tallulah Gorge is two miles long through the mountains of northeast Georgia and nearly 1000 feet deep. Its sheer rock walls plunge more than 600 feet to the river below, where a drop of more than 500 feet in less than a mile creates a series of spectacular waterfalls. Visitors can hike rim trails to several overlooks, or they can obtain a free permit to hike down to the gorge floor. A suspension bridge sways 80 feet above the rocky bottom, providing spectacular views of the river and waterfalls. Exhibits in the park's Jane Hurt Yarn Interpretive Center highlight the rich history of this Victorian resort town, as well as the rugged terrain and fragile ecosystem of the area. I Love Lucy: Tallulah Bankhead LOST HIVES SCENE
Tallulah Bankhead explains to Lucy Ricardo that she's allergic to strawberries in this lost scene from "The Celebrity Next Door." This scene was missing from the 1997 VHS video release of the episode, and is missing from the DVD set of the "Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour," Seasons 7-9. It is not found on the special features portion of the disc, nor was it shown on TVLand reruns. Without this scene, key plot twists later in the episode that refer to Bankhead's strawberry allergy make no sense at all to the viewer. As aired on CBS on December 3, 1957.

I've wanted to make this video for quite some time now. I've compiled all the extracts from "The Big Show" in which there were references to Bette Davis. Bankhead later explained in her autobiography: "The gossips and the gad-abouts made a great to-do about Bette Davis's characterization of a truculent actress in All About Eve. These busybodies said Miss Davis had patterned her performance after me, had deliberately copied my haircut, my gestures, my bark, and my bite. For comedy reasons this charge was fanned into a feud on my radio show. I was supposed to be seething with rage over the alleged larceny. In superficial aspects Miss Davis may have suggested a boiling Bankhead, but her over-all performance was her own." The Big Show was a 90-minutes radio show which ran from 1950 to 1951 on NBC. It was hosted by Tallulah Bankhead, and every Sunday evening she entertained the audience with many many stars. Ad-libs and witty lines made this show successful.
