Francisco TÁRREGA - Lágrima

Better quality fr.youtube.com My modest tribute to the best Dutch-speaking writer, poet, who sadly passed away today, March 19, 2008. His name is Hugo Claus. On a more joyful note: this is also dedicated to Julissima (jnclassicalguitarist) cause I know she likes Lágrima! :) Feel free to comment (constructively)!

ALBÉNIZ (Tárrega): Asturia (Leyenda) - Andrés SEGOVIA

Passing Through: www.youtube.com - Friends, Please visit my Poet friend "Passing Through's" YouTube channel: www.youtube.com , and support him - Thanks :) Asturia (Leyenda) In 1883 Isaac Albéniz met the teacher and composer Felipe Pedrell, who inspired him to write Spanish music such as the Suite Española, Op. 47. The fifth movement of that suite, called Asturias (Leyenda) is probably most famous these days in the classical guitar world, even though it was originally composed for piano and only later transcribed to guitar by Francisco Tárrega. Many of his other compositions were also later transcribed to guitar - Albéniz himself preferred Tárrega's guitar transcriptions to his original piano works. Leyenda (Asturias) is a work of classical music written by the Spanish composer Isaac Albéniz. Originally written for piano in G minor, it was Francisco Tárrega who transcribed it for guitar and put it in its most recognizable key, E minor. It is the most famous section in a suite entitled "Suite Española" (Op. 47), noted for its delicate, intricate melody and abrupt dynamic changes. Armed with the family's dusty old guitar, Miloš enrolled at a specialist music school, where in six months he learned all its teachers had to impart. He gave his first public performance at nine, entered (and won) his first national competition at eleven, on the same day won a singing competition in his home town. He became a star performer on television and radio, took guitar master-classes in Belgrade, and then, shortly after the end of the Balkan war, decided to try for a scholarship at London's Royal Academy... Miloš's choices of solo repertoire as well as music for guitar and orchestra are guaranteed to appeal to all lovers of guitar, classical and non-classical alike. Francisco Tárrega - Lagrima

Francisco de Asís Tárrega y Eixea (21 November 1852 -- 15 December 1909) was an influential Spanish composer and guitarist of the Romantic period. Francisco Tárrega's music and style of guitar playing became strongly influential in the twentieth century. He was central to reviving the guitar as a solo instrument in recital and concerts. His output was modest, having composed only 78 original scores and 120 transcriptions - mostly for his own use. Among his most popular works for the guitar are Recuerdos de la Alhambra, Capricho Árabe and Danza Mora. He is also the composer of what has been claimed to be "probably the world's most heard tune": the Nokia ringtone, Nokia tune, or simply Nokia, also used in advertising spots, is based on Tárrega's Gran Vals. His music also inspired Mike Oldfield to arrange Tárrega's tremolo study Recuerdos de la Alhambra for the soundtrack of the film "The Killing Fields". As with several of his Spanish contemporaries, such as his friend Isaac Albéniz, he had an interest in combining the prevailing Romantic trend in classical music with Spanish folk elements, and transcribed several of Albéniz's piano pieces. The noted contemporary guitarist and composer Angelo Gilardino has written that Tárrega's 9 Preludios are "... the deepest musical thought of Tárrega in the most concentrated form."

Capricho Árabe - Francisco Tárrega

My latest update on: www.facebook.com ---------------------------------------------------------- This video was taken in a very small village called Entraguyes in France. The background is that of a church as shown in the begining picture. We had a great week of guitar workshop with some of the best cassical guitarist in France with concerts each night. It was such an awesome night. Equipment used: Panasonic Lumix LX5 & Sony PCM-D50 Tárrega was born on 21 November 1852, in Villarreal, Castellón, Spain. It is said that Francisco's father played flamenco and several other music styles on his guitar; when his father was away working as a watchman at the Convent of San Pascual the child would take his father's guitar and attempt to make the beautiful sounds he had heard. Francisco's nickname as a child was "Quiquet". An infection permanently impaired his eyesight and when the family moved to Castellón the child was enrolled in music classes. Both his first music teachers, Eugeni Ruiz and Manuel González, were blind. In January 1906, he was afflicted with paralysis on his right side, and though he would eventually return to the concert stage, he never completely recovered. He finished his last work, Oremus, on 2 December 1909. He died in Barcelona thirteen days later, on 15 December, at the age of 57.

Recuerdos de la Alhambra - Spanish Guitar - Tarrega - johnclarkemusic.com

BUY CDS HERE: www.cdbaby.com One of my favorite compositions for guitar. This song was written by the amazing guitar composer Francisco Tarrega in 1896!!! He wrote many wonderful and memorable pieces for guitar. His music stands the test of time. I started learning this song in 2001. I don't think it can ever be perfected. Its not meant to be perfected. It is art. It is expression and emotion. Although he was a wonderfully technical player, Tarrega wrote this music from the heart. More important than playing technically perfect, is to play with the music in your heart. JohnClarkeMusic.com Get the official cd here www.cdbaby.com Also available on itunes.

This etude is sometime is named Romance of Tarrega. Most well-known spanish air of Romance transcribed by Narciso Yepes is exactly same compostion type and form of this Tarrega's etude. I guess Yepes might have referred to this for his Romance. Appricative for your listening. Thank you.
