We guess that would be Bryan since he gets to play all these great guitars (he actually smiled for a second in this video). While they are both great sounding little guitars they have different tones. For those of you wanting a lot of pop and quick response, the Spruce top is perfect, and for those wanting a warm and round tone then the Mahogany fits the bill. This video demonstrates how to build a simple, but effective, piezo pickup and install in into an acoustic guitar. The key pieces to make your own are a piezo buzzer ($6) and a 1/4 inch telephone jack ($3-6). A little bit of wiring and voila, instant pickup. I didn't expect that it would sound very good but honestly, I'm quite impressed with it. I hope that this video helps anyone looking for a good (but affordable) pickup without having to modify your guitar. Cheers!

So. . . I'm a little PO'd at Taylor. Why couldn't they have released the GS Mini back when I was in the market for an acoustic guitar? This "travel" axe sounds and plays about a million times better than the guitar I spent twice as much on fifteen years ago. It doesn't makes any sense: The Taylor GS Mini is a scant 17" in length, and small enough to take on a plane with nary a judgmental glace from an attendant. Plus is ships with a durable custom soft case, and is fitted for an optional soundhole-pickup / endpin jack DIY upgrade. Speaking of things that don't make sense: the metal face I'm making while playing bluegrass rhythm guitar.

A description and review of the Fender Acoustasonic 30 acoustic instrument amplifier, using a Taylor GS Mini acoustic guitar. This amplifier is no longer in production but there are still lots of them out there! Owner's manual and full specifications available here: support.fender.com Sound for this video was captured using a stereo microphone positioned about 6 feet in front of the amp in order to capture the sound of both the amp as well as the acoustic guitar, plus some room ambience. I feel this is a more realistic listening experience than putting a microphone directly in front of the speaker cone.

Just bought the new Taylor GSmini from guitar center. I was so excited i had to record one of my original songs "Until" and post it up on youtube. My performance was mediocre but the guitar sounds fantastic! Has a deep and rich sound. I'll mic it up in the next few days and post some performances to accurately capture the sound.
