Why is removing a tick correctly so important? Compressing the body of the tick can cause its saliva and gut contents to be squeezed out of the tick and back into the bloodstream of the host. Infective organisms can be transferred this way. Using fiddly impliments can prolong tick removal and stress the tick. This can cause it to regurgitate its stomach contents along with any infective organisms. DO NOT freeze, burn, or smother the tick with petrolium jelly, alcohol, or other substances, because this will also stress the tick and can cause it to regurgitate. DO NOT scratch off or crush a tick because it can leave bits behind in the skin and spill the saliva and gut contents which can result in infection.

I explain what a tick is, and then I use scientific methods to investigate ticks in Minecraft. My findings: There are two kinds of ticks in Minecraft. Redstone ticks occur every 1/10th of a second, or 100 milliseconds. Game ticks occur every 1/20th of a second, or 50 milliseconds. When a redstone tick occurs, all redstone torches and redstone repeaters update. Redstone torches take 1 redstone tick to update. Redstone repeaters take 1, 2, 3 or 4 redstone ticks to update. When a game tick occurs, pistons (and probably everything else in the game) update. Pistons start moving instantly, but they don't fully extend or retract until the 3rd game tick after that. So when you're talking about ticks, please be specific! Is it a redstone tick or a game tick?
