Fender Tim Armstrong Hellcat model acoustic

Just got this guitar and wanted to share. First impression is that it's a cool guitar with a distinct retro vibe, good playability, a focused, slightly boxy (but in a cool way) tone - like most concert sized acoustics. Fishman pickup system is good (though I'll be putting a MiniFlex 2Mic in it). One word of warning - it is a relatively quiet guitar. Fairly balanced, but quiet. My guess is that it will record very well, but string squeaks might be a bit more to contend with. I'll try to shoot another video with a good mic setup after a week or two getting used to it.

Gretsch G5191BK Tim Armstrong Signature Electromatic: A Hollowbody Guitar Made For High-Volumes (Vid

Is this the most extreme hollowbody guitar Gretsch has ever built? The Gretsch G5191BK Tim Armstrong Signature Guitar is production rendition of the Baldwin-era Gretsch played by the frontman / guitarist from such seminal Bay Area punk bands as Rancid and Operation Ivy. In fact, the Gretsch Tim Armstrong is a relatively understated axe given its namesake -- it features very few aftermarket mods, inlike Tim himself (dude has the word "BEER" and an inward-facing arrow tattooed on his inner lower lip). The Gretsch Tim Armstrong Signature Guitar was introduced at Winter NAMM 2010. We spoke with Gretsch's Jim Carducci about the features that make this model, and the guitar it was based on, unique.
