MARK TOIA CRASH
Year 2000, I was racing in Super Bike and Formula Extreme classes at the famous Mount Panorama circuit near Bathurst. We were reaching speeds of over 310 KPH down the straight. Race was eventually won by Factory R1 rider Kevin Curtain. I was coming 10th before the crash. With a terrible start i fell back to 30th position and clawed back to 10th in just 3 laps... Maybe I should have settled for 30th.... :) and would have saved me a broken leg, knee, 5 ribs and collar bone.
