On October 2nd, The Spirit of Troy honored the hit series "Glee" with a halftime show in its honor. The TMB has appeared twice on "Glee" as the McKinley High School marching band. The finale of the show was "Thriller," which the band had performed on the Super Bowl episode, "The Sue Sylvester Shuffle."

The Trojan Marching Band performs the crowd-favorite "Stanford Countermarch" at the Coliseum on October 29, 2011. This tradition, performed biennially since 1979, pokes fun at the Stanford Band. Taking an old marching band standard of parading back and forth on the field and having it slowly devolve into chaos one group at a time shows Stanford that any band can act disorganized. To march in unison, play in tune, and still get the best of your rival is the mark of a great marching band.

The 2005 BCS National Championship Game at the FedEx Orange Bowl was a historic night for USC. The Trojan football team thrashed the Oklahoma Sooners 55-19 and The Spirit of Troy presented one of its best pregame shows ever, including the traditional "Fanfare," "Tribute to Troy," "Fight On!" and "Conquest," along with a special version of "TUSK."
