United Airlines Emergency Landing in Boston (ATC Conversations)

On April 23rd, 2012, a United Airlines Airbus A320 operating flight 224 from Chicago to Boston was on approach to runway 22L at Logan airport when most of its navigation systems failed, followed by a loss of pressurization. The pilots declared emergency and looked for alternate airports: with none nearby with visual meteorological conditions, and with some systems back in working order, the pilots followed the ILS glideslope and then landed visually. Job well done. Recording from liveatc.net, edited and subtitled by myself.

air crash investgation: united airlines flight 232 impossible landing [full]

United Airlines Flight 232 was a scheduled flight from Stapleton International Airport in Denver, Colorado, to O'Hare International Airport in Chicago, with continuing service to Philadelphia International Airport. On July 19, 1989, the DC-10 (Registration N1819U) operating the route crash-landed in Sioux City, Iowa, after suffering catastrophic failure of its tail-mounted engine, which led to the loss of all flight controls. 111 people died in the accident while 185 survived.[note 1] Despite the deaths, the accident is considered a prime example of successful crew resource management due to the manner in which the flight crew handled the emergency, and the high number of survivors considering that the airplane was landed without conventional control. The flight crew became well known as a result of their actions that day, in particular the captain, Alfred C. Haynes, and a DC-10 instructor on board who offered his assistance, Dennis E. Fitch.

BRAND NEW 2012 The Impossible Landing United 232 Air Crash Investigation (Mayday)

United Airlines Flight 232 was a scheduled flight operated by United Airlines between Denver and Philadelphia via Chicago. On July 19, 1989, the Douglas DC-10 (Registration N1819U) being operated for this flight suffered an uncontained failure of its number 2 engine (mounted in the tail), which destroyed all three of the aircraft's hydraulic systems. With no controls working except the power levers for the two remaining engines, it broke up during an emergency landing on the runway at Sioux City, Iowa killing 110 of its 285 passengers and one of the 11 crew members. Owing to the skill of the crew and a DC-10 instructor pilot, 175 passengers and 10 crew members survived the crash, which is considered a textbook example of successful Crew Resource Management, due to the effective use of all the resources available aboard the plane for help during the emergency Category:

Aluminium- The American Airlines drama "Iron Lady" parody

Inspired by Meryl Streep's portrayal of Margaret Thatcher in "Iron Lady", "The Aluminum Lady" stars as the Minister of Flight Attendants for American Airlines, ruling over their 17000 flight attendants. She's ruthless and won't stop until she's chased away every long-term American Airlines employee on the property. Watch out though, Aluminum Lady, you never know when the Trolley Dollies will one-up you! In this pilot episode; watch Aluminum Lady work against her nemesis, The Sky Steward, who is trying to rid American Airlines of evil and return it to its former glory. She'll do her best to deny benefits to a flight attendant injured during a turbulent flight; but not to worry, a brownie may come to the rescue. Watch out Delta Airlines, United AIrlines and every other air carrier sharing the airspace with American Airlines, because The Aluminum Lady is determined to take you out as well as she does whatever it takes to claw her way back to the top.

American Airlines files for bankruptcy

nma.tv AMR Corporation, the parent company that owns American Airlines, has filed for bankruptcy protection. The announcement follows what can only be characterized as a disastrous stretch for the US carrier, posting yearly losses of $471 Million and taking a 79% hit on its stock price. A costly, on-going labor dispute between management and pilots is widely cited as the cause of American's woes. Stretching from 2006, talks recently broke down earlier in November when the Allied Pilots Association, the union representing American captains, refused to take a vote on a proposed contract. Thomas Horton, who is taking over the helm of AMR Corp. following CEO George Arpey's departure, claims American faces an $800 million cost disadavantage compared to other airlines when it comes to labor expenses. Also contributing to American's slide is its outdated squadron of planes, which gobble up expensive fuel. The carrier will proceed with a $38 billion aircraft upgrade, despite its Chapter 11 announcement. American has taken heat in recent years over its lucrative executive bonuses, a point that is bound to resurface as AMR struggles to restructure its finances. Top brass received $6.5 million in bonuses in 2009 alone, a year during which the company lost $375 million in its first quarter. American's fate, as well as what kind of impact passenger's might feel, is still unclear. The nation's top two airlines, like Delta and United, have gone onto flourish after filing bankruptcy ...

PLEASE READ - According to the official US Government 9/11 story, United Airlines Flight (UAL) 175 was taken over by Muslin terrorist hijackers and crashed into the World Trade Center South Tower at 9:03 AM on the morning of 9/11. At the bottom of the screen of the MSNBC broadcast it says "South Tower of World Trade Center Has Collapsed". The South Tower collapsed at 9:59 AM on 9/11. United Airlines Flight 175 - ATC Recordings 9/11

Like us on Facebook: www.facebook.com This is a newly released recording of United Airlines flight 175 which crashed into the South Tower of the World Trade Centre after being hijacked by five terrorists. This recording reveals the communication between the pilot and the aircraft controller before the hijacking and also during the hijacking when Flight 175 disappeared from radar. This was the second plane to be hijacked on September 11, 2001. United Airlines Flight 175 departed Boston-Logan for Los Angeles at 08:14. The aircraft was hijacked by five terrorists. The hijackers took over control, reportedly switched off the transponder and changed course to New York. At 09:03 the aircraft was flown into the Southeast side of the 110-story New York WTC South tower in a sharp left wing low attitude, crashed and exploded into the 78th through 84th floors. The massive fire weakened the tower structure on these floors and the tower collapsed at 09:59. Most of the office workers below the 78th floor were able to evacuate the tower on time before the collapse. Seventeen minutes before Flight 175 crashed into the South Tower, the WTC North Tower had been hit by an American Airlines Boeing 767, N334AA. It has been calculated that 1530 people were killed on the North Tower, and 612 on the South Tower. Additionally 479 rescue workers were killed. According to an FAA study, N612UA struck the WTC at a speed of 586mph an MIT study however determined the plane was probably traveling at ...

✈ San Francisco 747 Takeoff with ATC

United #869 SFO-HKG B747 Takeoff ----------------------------------------------------------- The United 747 leaving its biggest west coast hub to hong kong. Standard takeoff, I'm guess. I thought the flight route was interesting... flying over Alaska, then Russia and China. Flying over Alaska was a treat!!! Loved seeing those mountains. Side note: the in-flight flight tracker route history isn't exact , but the current position is. The landing was at night, so no video (sorry). But if you insist, it was an ILS approach at HKG cause it was so foggy. And while listening to ATC, the tower asked mr. pilot if he had a lot of experience, which (thankfully) he said yes. Then ATC let him fly the approach at 1800 feet (think of those surrounding mountains! and the fog). There was no speed restriction for most of the other traffic (including us). Also found out that in Chinese airspace Chinese airlines communicate with the ATC in Chinese. Cruising altitude: 29000-37000 ft Callsign: United 869 On a B744. From runway 28R. Economy plus. Pilot Exposes TSA Airport Security Flaws Loses CCW Permit

An airline pilot is being disciplined by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) for posting video on YouTube pointing out what he believes are serious flaws in airport security. The 50-year-old pilot, who lives outside Sacramento, asked that neither he nor his airline be identified. He has worked for the airline for more than a decade and was deputized by the TSA to carry a gun in the cockpit. He is also a helicopter test pilot in the Army Reserve and flew missions for the United Nations in Macedonia. Three days after he posted a series of six video clips recorded with a cell phone camera at San Francisco International Airport, four federal air marshals and two sheriff's deputies arrived at his house to confiscate his federally-issued firearm. The pilot recorded that event as well and provided all the video to News10. At the same time as the federal marshals took the pilot's gun, a deputy sheriff asked him to surrender his state-issued permit to carry a concealed weapon. Watch in 1080p HD! This United A320 had to abort/reject its takeoff for some reason. The pilots taxi'd off of the runway and held short behind a Delta A320. After a few minutes, it came back onto the runway and took off. The Delta that was in front had to taxi onto the runway then taxi back onto the taxiway so the United A320 can take off. You can see the Delta that was in front of the United, and when the United takes off for the second time the same Delta goes back onto the taxiway. You can also see Donald Trump's 757 parked in the background. Sorry about the camra shaking towards the end it was very windy at some point along with some wake turbulance from the engines. On 24 August 2001, Air Transat Flight 236 ran out of fuel while flying over the Atlantic Ocean. The pilots of the Airbus 330 safely glided and landed the aircraft at a naval base in the island of Azores. The fuel starvation was caused by improper maintenance work which allowed a hydraulic oil pipe and a fuel pipe to rub together resulting in the fracture of the fuel pipe and resulting leak. Type of aircraft: Airbus A330-243. Cause of disaster: Fuel starvation due to fuel leak, Faulty maintenance.

Tokyo, Narita (NRT) - Los Angeles (LAX) United Airlines #890 Landing With Channel 9

This video came out better. As you may have noticed, I had to slide my camera all the way down. The pilot did an auto-land on 25L. You'll see LAX airport when pilot is making a right turn and also downtown Los Angeles (bit hazy). Flight information can be found here.... flightaware.com

These Are Some Damn Good Airline Pilots!

For a cool flying experience go to bit.ly This is the original These Are Some Damn Good Airline Pilots! video. I have not created this video, but I noticed that Fotoman4u2's youtube account had suspended, so the video with over 4 million views got lost. By chance I got the video on my hard disk, so since I have made the number 2 of These Are Some Damn Good Airline Pilots, I decided to upload the number 1 as well. Please enjoy the video, which contains rough landings, neck breaking take offs, go arounds, crosswind landings, damn good airplane pilots, close call to crash landings and lot more. This is one of the best airplane videos uploaded to youtube after my opinion. The music is just so awesome! The music is from Matmatah and it's called Lambé An Dro. I doesn't surprise me if some injuries occured during these rough landings. In some clips here, you got to agree with me that it's a suitable spot to scream out loud: What a Pilot!

ACI - United Airlines Flight 232

United Airlines Flight 232 was a scheduled flight operated by United Airlines between Denver and Philadelphia via Chicago. On July 19, 1989, the Douglas DC-10 (Registration N1819U) being operated for this flight suffered an uncontained failure of its number 2 engine (mounted in the tail), which destroyed all three of the aircraft's hydraulic systems. With no controls working except the power levers for the two remaining engines, it broke up during an emergency landing on the runway at Sioux City, Iowa killing 110 of its 285 passengers and one of the 11 crew members. Owing to the skill of the crew and a DC-10 instructor pilot, 175 passengers and 10 crew members survived the crash, which is considered a textbook example of successful Crew Resource Management, due to the effective use of all the resources available aboard the plane for help during the emergency
