www.clymer.com 800-262-1954 HoAME Heart of America Motorcycle Rally http Lambretta was a line of motor scooters originally manufactured in Milan, Italy by Innocenti but also manufactured under licence by Société Industrielle de Troyes (SIT) in France, NSU in Germany, Serveta in Spain, API in India, Pasco in Brazil, Auteca in Colombia and Siambretta in Argentina. In 1972, the Indian government bought the Milanese factory and the rights to the Lambretta name, creating Scooters India Limited (SIL). Today, the Innocenti brand name rights are owned by Fiat whereas the oldest Lambretta and Lambro trademark registrations are owned by Lambretta Consortium and are licensed to various companies who want association with the iconic brand. Like Vespas, Lambrettas have 3 or 4 gears and two stroke motors with capacities ranging from 49cc to 198cc. Unlike the Vespa, which was built with a unibody chassis pressed from sheets of steel, Lambrettas were based around a tubular frame, although the J series model produced from 1964 through 1971 did have a monocoque body. Early versions were available in closed, with fully covered mechanicals or open, with minimal panels and thus looking like an unusual motorcycle. The model A and model B were only available in open style. The D models were noted for their torsion bar rear suspension, the D model outsold every other 2 wheeled vehicle combined at its peak. Vespa stores have closed why? So I just got word today there is really only about 280 active Piaggio dealers in the USA. I don't think this is such a bad thing when all the factors are considered. I really think the aggressive nature of the business plan Piaggio Group had didn't take many issues into consideration besides that expanding into Arctic Cat dealers was like a totally insane idea. The boutique concept never really worked, but the one thing Piaggio has failed to do is explain to its dealer base how to make money in a bad economy. The truth is the Vespa store needs to repair more than just Vespa. THE SAME WAY THEY DO IN ITALY. In Rome a shop makes only 6 to 7% on new vehicles yet they make over 50% of the store profits on repairs and clothing. MRP is here to help you. Vespa Glove Box Repair
This video describes how to fix the glove box on a Vespa GT 200L but it will apply equally well to several other models of modern Vespas. A common problem with some Vespas is that after repeated use, the glove box will start to stick making it difficult to open or close. This is due to the loosening of the screws that hold the hinges. Unfortunately to access the screws to tighten them, you need to remove the back panel completely. This video describes how to do that. By the way, once you have everything apart, you should glue and tighten BOTH sides of course (even though I didn't show both sides in the video!). Living Legends: Vintage Vespas
This is a poetic documentary about the life and continuing times of vintage vespas. (Note for those that are not familiar with Vespa history: The first 56 seconds are devoted to WWII footage of Italy getting bombed, it's meant to highlight the devastation. The roads were in such bad shape that a new reliable vehicle was needed to travel on them. Piaggio (the maker of Vespas) was a company that made airplanes, but was no longer being commissioned to do so after the war. So Corradino D'Ascanio invented the first Vespa out of spare airplane parts. The photos that follow are different vintage vespas throughout the years. I also included some commercials and Roman Holiday clips (because that was the movie that set off the vespas popularity). The orange and green vintage vespas are there as a reminder that these highly revered scooters are still in use today.)

USER REVIEW of VESPA GTV 300 w/ GTS Differences In "Description"
Video shot with first 400+ miles. Now fully broken in with over 2500 miles and going strong. Runs great and gas mileage has increased to 65 MPG even though I still drive it hard. List on these is just under $7K. With Dealer Prep, shippiing and Texas Tax it runs closer to $8K. I mentioned in the video that I had it up to about 75 MPH. Just for grins I removed the luggage case to see if removing that wind drag made a big difference in the top end. It did. On a flat highway with no wind, the top indicated speed was 84! I say "indicated" because Vespas are notorious for the speedometer reading a few MPH fast. Still, I'm sure it shocked the highway drivers to see a Vespa passing them in the fast lane, haha. It was very smooth but still not recommended for the feint of heart. Don't forget to wear proper motorcycle protection! ;) The only real differences between the 2012 GTV 300 and the GTS 300 is that the GTV comes standard with the front & rear Luggage Racks, the Headlight on Fender vs. the Handlebar, a short smoked Windscreen, the split Leather Seat (Saddle for driver, more of a rectangle for the passenger) and the fact that the GTV comes in two colors only, that being Portofino Green and Cappucino. The differences will set you back about another $1000 over the GTS. I mentioned some Quick 12v adapter instructions in the video - (They are only applicable if you have no intention of using an alarm system for your Vespa since it plugs into that connector).
