
Just a quick video of our special boy being hand fed balls of tinned dog food. Today is Wenesday 03/03/11, on Saturday he was admitted to our local vets completely dehydrated, drooling profusely and having no life in him and not being able to drink or eat, due to constant regurgitation, we already suspected Polymyositis, following extensive online research. Unfortunately our vets had started treatment earlier in the week for gastritis, luckily for Vin they eventually believed our suspicions relating to the myositis. He was placed on a drip and remained there until Monday 28/02/11. His blood sampled on Friday was fast tracked and the results showed elevated CK levels of 4000(by Tuesday 01/03/11 they were at 24000)!! After picking Vin up on Monday we took him to an immune disorder specialist in Taunton following guided referral from a very special lady by the name of Di Addicott (www.vizslahealth.net). Our boy was now a shadow of his former self and we were ill with worry about his prospects. Muscle biopsies were performed(note his shaved head) and more blood taken - to be sent to: The Comparitive Neuromuscular Lab in San Diego, for a definitive diagnosis. After the tests were finished Vin was given steroids intravenously and we returned home with heavy hearts to wait for news. Thankfully the news at the moment is good. We collected Vinnie yesterday after he responded well to the initial dose of steroids. He was taking food and drinking from a raised bowl without the <b>...</b>
