Blue Velvet by Bobby Vinton

She wore Blue Velvet Bluer than velvet was the night Softer than satin was the light From the stars She wore blue velvet Bluer than velvet were her eyes Warmer than May her tender sighs Love was ours Ours a love I held tightly Feeling the rapture grow Like a flame burning brightly But when she left gone was the glow of She wore Blue Velvet But in my heart there'll always be Precious and warm a memory through the years And I still can see Blue Velvet through my tears (Instrumental) She wore Blue Velvet But in my heart there'll always be Precious and warm a memory through the years And I still can see Blue Velvet through my tears She wore Blue Velvet But in my heart there'll always be Precious and warm a memory through the years And I still can see Blue Velvet through my tears

"My Heart Belongs to Only You" Bobby Vinton

Previously recorded by Mary Swan in 1958 and Jackie Wilson in 1961, "My Heart Belongs to Only You" written by Frank and Dorothy Daniels, was a hit for Bobby Vinton in February and March 1964. The song was originally released on the Epic label and can be found on the album, Bobby Vinton's Greatest Hits, available on CD on the Collectors Choice label. I dedicate this song to Linda and John. It will always be their song.
"Please Love Me Forever" Bobby Vinton

"Please Love Me Forever" written by John Malone and Ollie Blanchard was a hit for Cathy Jean and the Roommates in 1961. Bobby Vinton's version from his 1967 Epic album of the same name was released as a single, reaching #6 on the The Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Mr. Lonely - Bobby Vinton

Lonely, I'm Mr. Lonely I have nobody for my own I am so lonely, I'm Mr. Lonely Wish I had someone to call on the phone Now I'm a soldier, a lonely soldier Away from home through no wish of my own That's why I'm lonely, I'm Mr. Lonely I wish that I could go back home Letters, never a letter I get no letters in the mail I've been forgotten, yes, forgotten Oh how I wonder, how is it I failed Now I'm a soldier, a lonely soldier Away from home through no wish of my own That's why I'm lonely, I'm Mr. Lonely I wish that I could go back home . . . From the movie Rain Man (1988).

Bobby Vinton - My Special Angel (1963)

Released on the 1963 album, "Greatest Hits Of The Golden Groups". Kind of a strange album for this song to be included on since it was a '50's hit for Bobby Helms, not a group. The Vogues evenually had a hit with a remake but that wasn't until years after this album was recorded. So, I guess you could say this album predicted that a group would have a hit with the song years before they did! Bobby re-recorded this song in the '80's and that version seems easier to find than this one.

Bobby Vinton - He (1980)

Fantastic performance of this beautiful song, I don't know why this one didn't chart on the Adult Contemporary (Easy Listening) chart, let alone the Hot 100. Did not chart, but released as a single in October 1980. Remake of the 1955 McGuire Sisters and Al Hibbler hit. Also recorded by the Righteous Brothers. B-side is "My First and Only Love".

Bobby Vinton - Blue Velvet (Original Stereo)

"Blue Velvet" was written by Bernie Wayne and Lee Morris in 1950 and first popularly recorded by Tony Bennett the following year. The Clovers managed to record a marvelous doo-wop version of it in 1955, but Bobby Vinton's cover recorded in 1963 became the biggest selling of them all. This recording was the #1 song on the pop charts during August of 1963.
