The watershed area of the Vistula is 194424 km², of which 168699 km² lies within Poland The Vistula has its source at Barania Góra in the south of Poland, 1220 meters above sea level in the Silesian Beskids (western part of Carpathian Mountains) where it begins with the White Little Vistula (Biała Wisełka) and the Black Little Vistula (Czarna Wisełka). It then continues to flow over the vast Polish plains, passing several large Polish cities along its way, including Kraków, Sandomierz, Warsaw, Płock, Włocławek, Toruń, Bydgoszcz, Świecie, Grudziądz, Tczew and Gdańsk. It empties into the Vistula Lagoon or directly into the Gdańsk Bay of the Baltic Sea with a delta and several branches (Leniwka, Przekop, Śmiała Wisła, Martwa Wisła, Nogat and Szkarpawa). The widest point of the river is however here at Stary Duninów to the north of Płock, caused to some degree by the construction of the dam at Włocławek further down stream. By this time, its largest tributaries, the San, Narew and Bug have all flown into it. Nonetheless its distributaries do not start to take water from it for some considerable distance. Krzysztof Malinowski-"I Tylko Wiatr"-"Nie Rzucam Słów Na Wiatr" Polecam stronę Krzysztofa: www.krzysztofmalinowski.com Na Zalewie Wiślanym we Fromborku rozegrane zostały bojerowe Regaty o Puchar Floty Wschodniej. Pierwszego dnia udało się zorganizować tylko jeden wyścig. Do zmagań w niedzielę zgłosiła się połowa zawodników. Bojerowe regaty na Zalewie Wiślanym rozpoczęły się w sobotę 9 stycznia. Miały być rozgrywane w czterech klasach (Senior, Junior, Junior młodszy, Ice Optimist). Swój start zgłosiło ponad 40 zawodników. Ze względów bezpieczeństwa rozegrano je jedynie w dwóch klasach — Senior i Ice Optimist. Niestety, mimo dobrego wiatru — 10-12 m/s — w sobotę rozegrano tylko jeden wyścig. Powód? Wysokie zaspy śniegu, które tworzyły się na lodzie. — Ich wysokość sięgała momentami kadłuba — informuje na stronie www.bojery.pl Tomasz Zakrzewski. — Rozpędzone ślizgi, zwłaszcza na kursach z wiatrem, wpadały na dużej prędkości w śnieżne hamulce i stąd wiele przykrych incydentów. Niektórzy zawodnicy w ogóle nie wzięli udziału w rywalizacji. Po pierwszym wyścigu sędzia zdecydował o przerwaniu sobotniej rywalizacji z nadzieją, że niedziela przyniesie lepsze warunki. W niedzielę 10 stycznia do startu zgłosiła się połowa zawodników. Część wolała nie ryzykować startu w trudnych warunkach przed zbliżającymi się Mistrzostwami Świata. Living on the Vistula river in Czernichów
Gmina Czernichów is a rural gmina (administrative district) in Kraków County, Lesser Poland Voivodeship, in southern Poland. Its seat is the village of Czernichów, which lies approximately 21 kilometres (13 mi) south-west of the regional capital Kraków. The gmina covers an area of 83.8 square kilometres (32.4 sq mi), and as of 2006 its total population is 12851. Gmina Czernichów is located on the Vistula river, among limestone and hillocks covered with forests. It has two tourist parks, Rudawski Park Krajobrazowy and Bielańsko-Tyniecki Park Krajobrazowy. There is also a nature park, "Kajasówka", which is an excellent example of steppes in the landscape.
