On 12/3/11 I went to Secaucus Junction to see some NJT and Amtrak trains. It turned out to be a very successful day, with seeing 20 trains, two Acela Expresses, a train race, horn shows and more. Some trains are ALP-46, ALP-46A, Acela Express, AEM-7, Arrow III, Comet V, and Comet VI. ENJOY!!!

This is a video about the NYSW yard job WS-1, with CEFX SD40M-2 3124. WS-1 started its journey on 11/25/11 in the Ridgefield Park engine office. After recieving paperwork, the engineer fired it's prime mover with tons of smoke. After idling for about five minutes, the train started its journey to the yard. After relocating, we will see the engine shunt cars in Notch 8. Enjoy the video!

On 12/10/11 the NYSW ran its annual Toys For Tots Train to help less fortunate children. The train collects toys for those kids. Every year it stops at Maywood, Wycoff, Pompton Lakes, and Butler. I caught it in Maywood and Rochelle Park. This year's train consisted of NYSW SD40-2 3018, NS GP40-2 3010, a Louisville and Nashville passenger car, a Morristown and Erie passenger car and a caboose. Many people came out for this event. ENJOY!!!

Over Memorial Day Week End I railfanned on NJ Transit's North Jersey Coast Line. Since Comet IV 5024 and 5028 were on the NJCL, it made it feel like the original NJCL. An interesting fact about the NJCL is that in Bay Head the PRR and CNJ did not have to turn around the engines because they buit it in a loop to make turning trains around extremely easy. Heard that a local was out while railfanning, so I went to catch it. NYSW SD40-2 3022 was on WS-3, with an awesome engineer with multiple horn shows. Every time I waved he would honk the horn. ENJOY!!!

Since I liked this spot when I tried it out last week, I decided to try it again. So at 6:20 AM I ventured off to Bergenfield, NJ. When I got there TheFlagMan2 was there and Q167 was going by. At 7:00 Q169 came through and lifted the fog. Later on Q156 showed up then followed Q160 with mostly empties. After Q160 Q110 came. Before Q110 came I heard on my scanner that Q410 had to wait for Q110. When Q410 rounded the curve, my jaw dropped. Five EMDs and one GE. ENJOY!!!!

Thanks so much chealy349!! OK, so I heard from chealy349 that a southbound K train was coming with some sort of CN power. Well, after two trains passing before this, I finally got the light on track two. At first I saw CSX AC44CW 517 leading, but what is this, a blue engine?!?!? It turns out it is IC C40-8W 2464 (ex-LMS still in blue paint) Apparentelty, IC owns the engine. ENJOY the rarity!

One of the things that I got for Christmas. It's the Atlas O Susquehanna SD40 number 3022. This engine is awesome. Atlas is great. I rate this thng an 8 because there aren't any conversations in conventional. It's still a great engine!

The past two weeks I've been railfanning on the River Line. The first time I only saw Q156 with CSX C40-8W 7678 and AC6000 697. On 11/12/11 I went to Ridgefield Park again. The time I saw two northbounds. The first one was S157 with two GEVOs, the leader being ES40DC 5306. Ten minutes later, Q418 came with a standard cab leader, C40-8 7502. AC44CW 458 and GP38-2 2624. ENJOY!!!

Today I wanted to catch SU-99 and sure enough I did. I went to the Boulevard in Elmwood Park to catch it. All of a sudden I was a half block down from the crossing and the gates started to descend. I ran and made it just in time. Leading was NYSW SD40T-2 3016, 3012, and SD40-2 3022 and 3018. I have seen Canada cars before on this train. ENJOY!!!

Wanting to see something else other than freight, I went to the partially new Plauderville Station. I was supposed to see 3 expresses and two locals, but instead I saw four expresses. Train 1: MNCR F40PH-3C 4908 lead express 51. Train 2: MNCR express with Comet V 6711 and GP40PH-2 4906. Trains 3 and 4: NJT PL42AC 4012 and 4008 meet. ENJOY!!!

Knowing that a K train was coming down with some sort of Canadian National power, I went to Ridgefield Park to catch it. At CP-7, there was an approach signal for a northbound. It turns out it was Q410 with ES40DC 5429, C40-8W 7308, and SD40-2 8439. About 10 minutes after Q410 passed, I got a restricted signal for a southbound on Track 1. Could it be the K train? Nope. It was Q409 with a hilarious engineer, CSX ES40DC 5302, 5426 and SD40-2 8305. Finally, after waiting an hour, NI came on and told K678 to come down to CP-1. K678 waited on the middle siding for Q410 and Q409. Leading was CSX AC44CW 517 and an ex-LMSX IC/CN C40-8W 2464 still in the original LMSX blue. (minus the CN and IC markings) ENJOY!!!

I made a trip to one of my favorite hobby shops, Ridgefield Hobby to see if any new engines came in. After being disappointed that a MTH NYSW SD70M was sold, I saw this UP engine sitting there in the display case. I really like the engine so the owner ran it for me. I really like the sounds. On 10/15/11 I went to Ridgefield Park, NJ because I heard about a K682 coming with two UPs and a CSX. As soon as I got there, CSX Q434 was rounding the curve with one engine and a generator! Leading was an AC44CW. The next train which was Q410 didn't come for another three hours! Leading was an ES40DC and an AC44CW elephant style. F40s Ruling the PVL!! On the border of Teterboro and Hasbrouck Heights, two NJ Transit F40PH-2CATs meet right in front of me on the Pascack Valley Line. It was cool how the switching operations were done. Engines are: Train 1: NJ Transit F40PH-2CAT 4128 approaches Teterboro station Train 2: NJ Transit Comet V Cab Car 6007 passes by en-route to Hoboken terminal. F40PH-2CAT 4116 provides the power. On 10-24-11 I went to Bogota to see what the power was for SU-99. NYSW 3016 was leading, followed by CEFX 3143, 3108, 3124, and NYSW 3022 trailing the train with 80+ cars. This train also had to autoracks, one being Ferromex. When I arrived the crew was in, the train was ready, and sure enough within 20 minutes the train departed with a nice crew. At the end of the train 3022 was trailing (I think WS-5 was connected to SU-99) with a nice engineer. ENJOY!!!

On Saturday I ventured off to Bergenfield, NJ to meet TheFlagMan2 again. When I got there there were two other railfans there and the signal was green for a southbound. Finally Q433 came with AC4400CW 598 and 597. The next train was S268. This was my first time seeing an autorack on the River Line. Leading were two C40-8Ws, 7760 and 7727. After waiting almost 2 hours for the next southbound, a 14 hour late Q268 came through with a woman conductor and a friendly engineer who gave us a great horn show. Leading was C40-8W 7393 or 7383. ENJOY!!!!!!

This morning I went to Ridgefield Park at about 6:45-9:00. First CSX Q439 came with CSX ES44AH 888 (triple eights) About two hours later Q268 came with AC44CW 466 and SD40-2 8376. After Q268 rounded the bend Q010 came with two AC44CWs. After I left K634 and Q008 came. ENJOY!!!

Taken on Sunday 11/20/11. The Aqua Train made an appearance on the Pascack Valley Line. Leading was GP40FH-2 4139. I have now seen every GP40FH-2 on NJ Transit. It had to wait on the siding for an eastbound train, with NJT GP40PH-2 4111 providing the power. ENJOY!!!

On Sunday September 18, 2011 I headed out after the Jets game to raifan the Meadowlands Line. Recently finished a year or two ago, this line allows fans to board a train from Hoboken or Secaucus and go to the Meadowlands! Please enjoy the post-game rush as well as some Pascack Valley Line action!

I went out railfanning to try to catch CSX Q410 with a BNSF engine. I Didn't catch it, but I got a call that Q156 was coming down. As the gates were 75% down, the car sped up and went right under them. By the time the car got to the crossing, the gates were down. Please enjoy the fail.

On Tuesday June 14, 2011 I ventured off to Ridgefield Park to see CSX River Liine trains. First off came NYSW WS-5. WS-5 has CSX GP38-2 3732. (which I thought got handed back over to CSX). About 15 minutes later Q409 showed up going slower than normal speed. Q409 has CSX ES40DC 5400, ES44AC 824, GP40-2 6430 and GP40 DPU 2310. ENJOY!!!

After the rain stopped, I decided to go to Ridgefield Park, NJ to see CSX River Line trains and an NYSW local. As soon as I got there NYSW WS-2 went down to Bogota. I couldn't film it because we were driving. After WS-2 passed, WS-3 surprised me with all the Intermodal cars from either Q108 or Q118. Leading was Norfolk Southern GP38-2 5291. Train 2, WS-2 returns. After WS-3 reversed out, WS-2's power comes back to be tied down with: CSX GP38-2 2732 CSX GP40-2 4425 Train 3, CSX Q417. Chealy349 also caught this train but at Automatic 17. Be sure to check it out! After WS-2's power passed, I went back to the station. I heard on the scanner that Q417 was at CP-7. Notice the big flat car which probably had a NJT ALP45DP on it. Leading was: CSX AC4400CW 557 CSX CW44AH 5115 As Always, ENJOY!!!

OK, so today I went to Maywood to catch NYSW SU-99 again hoping for a longer train and a SD70M. Luckily, this train had both plus being extremely loud in Notch 8. Though coming a half hour later than Monday's, the wait was well worth it. Sorry about the cut clips. I coundn't upload the full train. Leading was: NYSW SD40T-2 3014 NYSW SD70M 4052 NYSW SD40T-2 3016 If you are wondering how I was standing near the new restaurant I just waited for the train to come in sight and set up a minute before it came. Everyone in the restaurant was looking out the window and door. I was like the President drove right by! ENJOY!!!

Today I went to Bound Brook, NJ for an hour and a half. When I got there, ucvgabe8467, trainmaster101, and BRONCOBILL1959 were already there. As I arrived in the parking lot, a PL42AC pulled into the station. When I finally went under the tunnel an eastbound came with Comet VI 7012 with PL42AC 4011 pushing. As the NJT eastbound left, there was a light coming from the Norfolk Southern Lehigh Line. Leading were two standard cab GEs for the Intermodal train. Engines are: Norfolk Southern C40-9 8786 Union Pacific C40-8 9218 After the intermodal passed another light came in the distance so we all went on top of the hill to catch another Norfolk Southern intermodal train, this time on the Port Reading Secondary. Leading was an ex Conrail SD60M with a nice S3L. Engines are: Norfolk Southern SD60M 6785 ex Conrail Norfolk Southern C40-9W 9173 After that train yet another light came into view. Turns out it was MA-80. I was really hoping it was Norfolk Southern 5290 but it wasn't. It was Norfolk Southern GP38-2 5637. As this train came into view it put on a smoke show. ENJOY!!!

Today I went to Rutherford to see some Bergen County Line trains. First a eastbound, 1270 came with no Comet Vs. This is the second time this has happened this week that I've seen. Comet IV 5028 was leading followed by GP40PH-2 4102 trailing. Note that there is MoW down the line by Pascack Junction. The next train came with scrapper (PL42AC) 4013. Then I relocated to the Pascack Valley Line. As I was walking to the tracks the gates started to go down. I ran, set up, and F40PH-2CAT 4119 rounded the bend. Next 1626 came with Comet V 6022 and GP40PH-2B 4215, thus ending my day of railfanning. ENJOY!!!

Today I went to Bergenfield, NJ again to see the morning rush. This was my last train Q410. After Q110 cleared, Q438 came off the siding with AMAZING POWER. Leading was : CSX Q438 CSX SD70MAC 4822 CSX SD40-2 8239 CSX SD70MAC 4543 CSX SD40-2 8842 CSX SD40-2 8181 CSX C40-8 7535 ENJOY!!!

Today I decided to try something new, so I went to a new location, CSX River Line CP10 (Bergenfield, NJ. Located about 500 ft. from CP10 and where the three tracks go into one, this aa railfan's spot! Later on TheFlagMan2 showed up. The southbound signal went on. 20 minutes later Q417 flies through with Train 1: CSX Q410. After waiting 20 minutes for Q410, he finally showed up with a GP30 DPU! Engines are: CSX ES40DC 5342 CSX C40-8 7626 CSX GP40-2 6926 CSX GP30 DPU 2289 Train 2, CSX Q417. After Q410 went through, the FlagMan2 showed up. Today I went to Rutherford to test out my new camera and to see the three usual 4:00 trains. There was only one PL42AC!!! The first train that I see is a Multi-Level Local to Hoboken led by NJT Comet VI 7027. PL42AC 4020 provides the power. Train 2: The second train is MNCR Express 77. I walked almost 1/2 a mile to get this shot. After I do a tripod swith I look down the tracks to see the train approaching the station!!! I paniced and ran to set up my shot. MNCR GP40FH-2 4901 goes quite slow compared to how fast it goes regularly. The train had a friendly engineer but it wasn't the "CNJ Hogger" Train 3: NJT GP40PH-2B 4200 slows and departs Rutherford. ***PLEASE READ DESCRIPTION*** First of, I would like to thank TheFlagMan2 and chealy349 for the heads up. I would have never been able to catch this without them. Anyway the day before I went to Ridgefield Park to catch this. It turns out a tree was blocking the tracks by Automatic 13 so so southbound trains came for 3 hours. After K682 ran out of time to get to the Chemical Coast, he was outlawed. So the next day I got info that K682 was indeed still on the River Line and was going to come down soon. So I went out to catch it. It didn't come for 20 minutes. Then finally, K682 answered CP-7. Finally, my first time seeing foreign power on the River Line! This past weekend I went railfanning on Black Friday and Sunday, 11/27/11. I got to Ridgefield Park when it was still dark out. An approach was on track 1 at CP-5. A half hour later Q156 came through with a nice engineer and with C40-9W 9030 and SD70AC 4717. 15 minutes later, Q008 came with an all GEVO lash up with ES40DC 5277, ES44AH 845, and ES40DC 5204. I then caught it going into the NYSW. On Sunday, as I was driving to Ridgefield Park Q438 just went through. But Q434 came 10 minutes later with an all EMD, ex-Conrail SD40-2 lash-up, consisting of 8833 and 8842 with a friendly engineer. After about an hour wait Q010 comes through somewhat late in a new location with a GEVO and C40-8W 7926 (saw it with TheFlagman2). I then went back railfanning in the evening for two hours (also with TheFlagman2) and after waiting two hours Q409 came with another All EMD lash-up with SD70ACe 4850 and SD60I 8744. ENJOY!!!

Today I once again went to Ridgefield Park, NJ to celebrate National Train Day. Nothing came for an hour, but then there was supposedly a train at CP10. I was at the station then I heard something on my scanner but as usual it was very low. I crossed the tracks and the gates started to go down. I look down the tracks and I say "A trash train?" This is my first trash train and it was CSX Q703 with: CSX ES40DC 5344 CSX SD40-2 8857 ex-Conrail! ENJOY and Happy National Train Day

Today I went to Bergenfield, NJ with TheFlagMan2. I only caught two trains, Q417 and Q010. First Q417 came with CSX C40-8W 7900, SD40-2 8224 and GP40-2 6218. Next Q010 came with ES44AH 789 and C40-8W 7343. Be sure to cheack out chealy349's video! Enjoy!!!

Today I went to Rutherford, NJ. I saw three trains. One was MNCR Express 77 with an extremely friendly engineer. Leading is NJ Transit GP40PH-2B 4213 in the new NJT paint scheme. As the train passed, there was some nice doppler effect. This train was going about 70-79 mph ENJOY!!!
