Waylon - The Escapist

Waylon - The Escapist Songtekst: Time's up, gotta move on No way, i will wait another day Tired of sleeping alone We meet, like the song Like thieves at the dark end of the street Tired of hiding alone So break out, I ain't tripping Ask yourself: is this life worth living? When you're under a spell So baby if you wanna escape Just follow me, I'll show you the way out I'll break the chains that bind you and set you free Baby let me be Your escapist For all this time, all you've got to show Is broken hearted tears on the pillow He never treated you right So tonight, we'll do it for real But he won't forgive you like I did So there's no turning back Sing out, you know I'll come running This cag, it's kept you far too long Now the time is come So baby if you wanna escape Just follow me, I'll show you the way out I'll break the chains that bind you and set you free Baby I could be Your escapist So come on baby can't you see This ain't how it's supposed to be This ain't no happy ever after And in your heart of hearts you know This ain't how the story goes Light up now, burn this page and start again Time's up, the clock stopped ticking Save your soul from the world you're missing Frome the flames of hell So baby if you wanna escape Just follow me, I'll show you the way out I'll break the chains that bind you and set you free Tonight I'm gonna be Spread your broken wings and fly Cause up above ain't nothing but blue skies I'll break the chains that bind you and set you free <b>...</b>

Waylon Jennings & Willie Nelson - Mamas Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be Cowboys

Waylon Arnold Jennings (June 15, 1937 February 13, 2002) was an influential American country music singer and musician. A series of duet albums with Willie Nelson in the late 1970s culminated in the 1978 crossover hit, "Mamas Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up to Be Cowboys". Willie Hugh Nelson (born April 30, 1933) is an American country singer-songwriter, author, poet and actor. Along with Nelson, Waylon Jennings was also achieving success in country music in the early 1970s, and the pair were soon combined into a genre called outlaw country ("outlaw" because it did not conform to Nashville standards). "Mamas Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up to be Cowboys" is a country music song written by Ed Bruce and Patsy Bruce. It was made famous by Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson, whose version was first released on their 1978 album Waylon & Willie. The song's lyrics advise mothers to raise their children as doctors or lawyers rather than cowboys, who seem to be "always alone." The Waylon & Willie version peaked at No. 1 in March 1978, spending four weeks atop the Billboard magazine Hot Country Singles chart. Lyrics: Cowboys ain't easy to love and they're harder to hold And they'd rather give you a song then diamonds or gold Lonestar belt buckles and old faded Levi's each night begins a new day And if you don't understand him and he don't die young He'll probly just ride away Mamas don't let your babies grow up to be cowboys Don't let 'em pick guitars and drive them old trucks Make 'em <b>...</b>

Waylon Jennings - Amanda

Stereo: www.youtube.com Waylon Jennings - Amanda (1979) "Amanda" was originally written by Bob McDill and was first recorded by Don Williams in 1973. After finishing what he called "an apology to my wife," McDill sent the demo tape to Waylon's office, where it apparently was lost. Waylon first heard the song when Williams' version was released, and he even called McDill to tell him that the song was right up his alley, and wished that McDill had given him the first chance to record the song. McDill then explained to Waylon that he had given him dibs to the song, and Jennings responded by recording the song for his 1974 "I'm a Ramblin' Man" album. Jennings didn't intend for the song to be released as a single, because he assumed that it had run its course on the country charts. Five years later, in 1979, Jennings released his first "Greatest Hits" album, and "Amanda" was included. RCA Records, whom Jennings was recording for at the time, released Jennings' version of the song as a single, and it went straight to #1.

Revelation - Waylon Jennings

Somewhere in Vietnam a 19-year-old soldier walked out of a barroom And he said I must be seeing things that bourbon hit me like a baseball bat In Bellfast Ireland a little lady dropped her shovel in her garden She raced across the yard and ask her neighbor Mrs Clancy what was that In Memphis Tennessee a teacher raised the window closest the river And the children in her classroom swore they'd heard a choir singing down the street In Washington DC a private secretary's lips began to quiver And the President just put aside his papers and rose quickly to his feet I lay in a cheap motel in the arms of someone else's woman When a loud explosion rocked the room and turned the morning into night I jumped out of bed and ran into the street with hardly any clothes on As the sky lit up my heart stood still and I could feel my face was turnin' white All at once the clouds rolled back and there stood Jesus Christ in all his glory And I realized the saddest eyes I'd ever seen were lookin' straight at me I guess I was awakened by the penetrating sounds of my own screamin' And it didn't take me long to stumble out of bed and fall down on my knees As tears rolled down my face I cried dear God I'm thankful I was only dreamin' And if I never go to hell Lord it'll be because you scared it out of me

This is from the days when David Alan Coe was good and even relatively respectable... not anymore Anyway here's the lyrics: I heard the burritos out in California Could fly higher than the birds Roger McGuinn had a 12-string guitar It was like nothing I'd ever heard And the Eagles flew in from the West Coast Like the birds they were trying to be free While in Texas the talk turned to outlaw Like Willie and Waylon and me Heyyy Well they say Texas music in the making And we been making music that is free Doing one night stands, playing with our bands Willie, Waylon and me Oh Mad Dog They say the Beatles were just the beginning Of everything music could be Just like the stones I was rolling along Like a ship, lost out on the sea And Joplin would die for the future And Dillon would write poetry And in Texas the talk turned to Outlaw Like Willie, Waylon and me Heyyy My name is David Allen Coe and I'm from Dallas Texas They say Texas music's in the making And we been making music that is free Doing one night stands, playing with our bands Willie, Waylon and me Big Jim I heard the burritos out in California Could fly higher than the birds Roger McGuinn had a 12-string guitar It was like nothing I'd ever heard And the Eagles flew in from the West Coast Like the birds they were trying to be free While in Texas the talk turned to outlaw Like Willie, Waylon and me

Highwayman - Johnny Cash~Willie Nelson~Waylon Jennings~Kris Kristoffersen

The Highwaymen were a country supergroup comprising four musicians well known for, among other things, their involvement and pioneering influence on the outlaw country subgenre: Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson and Kris Kristofferson. Lyrics: I was a highwayman. Along the coach roads I did ride With sword and pistol by my side Many a young maid lost her baubles to my trade Many a soldier shed his lifeblood on my blade The bastards hung me in the spring of twenty-five But I am still alive. I was a sailor. I was born upon the tide And with the sea I did abide. I sailed a schooner round the Horn to Mexico I went aloft and furled the mainsail in a blow And when the yards broke off they said that I got killed But I am living still. I was a dam builder across the river deep and wide Where steel and water did collide A place called Boulder on the wild Colorado I slipped and fell into the wet concrete below They buried me in that great tomb that knows no sound But I am still around..I'll always be around..and around and around and around and around I fly a starship across the Universe divide And when I reach the other side I'll find a place to rest my spirit if I can Perhaps I may become a highwayman again Or I may simply be a single drop of rain But I will remain And I'll be back again, and again and again and again and again..

Waylon Jennings & Willie Nelson - Good Hearted Woman

Stereo: www.youtube.com Waylon Jennings & Willie Nelson - Good Hearted Woman (1975) Jennings and Nelson co-wrote this song during a poker game in a Fort Worth, Texas motel room after Jennings noticed a trade journal ad featuring Ike and Tina Turner that stated that Tina was a "good hearted woman loving two-timing men." Nelson himself only contributed two lines to the song. Jennings first recorded this song in 1972 as a solo version, and it reached #3 on the Billboard country singles chart (it would be two more years before Jennings would score his first #1 hit with "This Time"). When Waylon re-recorded the song for a 1975 live album, he simply overdubbed Willie's voice. As a duet, the song shot straight to #1, and quickly became one of the defining moments of the whole Outlaw country music movement of the mid-'70s.
