The 43-year-old was arrested by appointment at a London police station and remains in custody. She was arrested on suspicion of conspiring to intercept communications and on suspicion of corruption allegations. She quit News International on Friday as pressure mounted over her role. Mrs Brooks was editor of the paper between 2000 and 2003, during which time the phone belonging to murdered schoolgirl Milly Dowler was tampered with. Sources claim News International was not aware that Mrs Brooks would be arrested when her resignation was being discussed at the company on Tuesday and Wednesday of last week. She eventually resigned on Friday. A spokesman for Mrs Brooks says the Met police notified her on Friday, after her resignation had been agreed, that she would be arrested. It is the tenth arrest made by Operation Weeting police who are conducting the current investigation into phone hacking. Officers from Operation Elveden were also involved with the arrest. They are investigating allegations of inappropriate payments to police, an inquiry which is being supervised by the <b>...</b>

Just over seven miles this walk starts at a fairy-tale castle ruin set in beautiful moated grounds. Old trees that take me back to my childhood, not the kind forced to grow in neat rows found in most of Britain's forests today. Weeting was not a real castle, it was built by Hugh de Plais in 1180 as a country residence for the de Plais family. The Moat was added in the mid 13th century to demonstrate the wealth and power of the de Plais family rather than defences. See wp.me for more detail.

We were recently blessed with a large amount of snow in the run up to Christmas. I have always thought this village is beautiful, I often think that some people who live here don't agree. Its a very small village on the Norfolk/Suffolk border (in Norfolk). In the car you can drive through it within about a minute, on foot you can walk from one end to the other in approx 15 minutes, and no matter which way you walk out of the village you are in fields or forest within five minutes. I was born in London, but I have lived here since I was about nine. The village has Castle Ruins, a Church with a Norman Tower, the longest row of thatched cottages in Britain, one small post office stores, a pub, a petrol garage and depending on the time of day a small chippy... We are just about an hour and a half from London, and 35 minutes from the beach. You can't really complain about that can you. I love it here!
