This is my Kershaw Whirlwind 1560. This is my second purchase of this knife. The first one I bought in 2005 I gave to my father-in-law, and he tore it up like a $2 suitcase. This 3.5 ounce knife is only 4.5" closed with a blade length of 3.25" so that it is small enough to travel discreetly on your person or in your baggage or be a lightweight attachment to your clothing with the included pocket clip. The Ken Onion Design includes an easy open, Drop Point plain blade made of very strong 440A stainless steel with a 55-57 Rockwell hardness rating and heat-treated 410 stainless steel liners. The polyamide handle is easy to grip and the liner lock locks the blade in place for stable cutting action and less risk of accidents. This knife doesn't really excite me for the price. I had seen and read good reviews on the Whirlwind so I thought I'd get one and try it out. Well, after having it for a bit, it just isn't worth the price of around $45. There are better knives out there for the money, this one is worth maybe $30. Of all my knives, this is the only one I've bought I wouldn't care to buy a second one to have as a backup or even just to have, if that makes sense. If the lanyard hole was larger, the pocket clip was movable to all four corners or at least tip down, it would be worth closer to the current price. As it is, it just seems a bit lackluster. I forgot to mention in the video that it does have a reversible thumb stud and the handle is symmetrical so the left and right sides are the same to it will be comfortable for lefties as well as righties, just the liner lock might be hard to get to given it is flush with the edge of the sides. The handle is very comfortable and a nice size for the blade. It also has full stainless liners on both sides, no skeletonizing and does feel very sturdy. Just thought I'd mention that here to be fair to the knife. It isn't a bad knife, just not a $40+ knife considering the other options out there in that range.

Strange tornadoes are appearing in Tokyo, targeting and killing two professors. When another tornado attacks a military base, Iron Man enters it and finds the cause, another Zodiac warrior who easily defeats him. Meanwhile, Nanami attends a meeting with Chika Tanaka, Tony's co-worker, and another Professor, Sakamoto, who talk about the Tesla Project, an anti-natural disaster machine worked on by them and the other professors, before they themselves are attacked by the tornado. Tony tries to help some survivors, but is met with harsh criticism from the rescue team. As Chika and Nanami research the Tesla Project, they soon learn that Sakamoto is the man responsible for selling the Tesla research to the Zodiac, though thanks to Nanami they manage to escape. With the armor repaired, Iron Man reenters the tornado and defeats the Zodiac with an EMP cannon.

Owen pits it against a recent MXR Phase 90 to find out. By way of explanation (and as to why the Whirlwind Rochester Orange Box Phaser is more of a reissue than a knock-off): the current CEO of Whrilwind was one of the founders of MXR back in the 70s; he helped design the original Phase 90 pedal that made MXR famous as an effects company and not the large-format mixer company it was supposed to be. Oddly enough, Whirlwind was not originally founded with the intent to produce high-quality pro-audio solutions, but rather to develop and build a weather-control device that could manifest destructive vortices of air at will, thereby controlling the world. I guess that guy just can't help but build stompboxes!
