The Sheboygan Diamonds U11 team went on a 5-game winning streak to take the 2010 Plymouth 5th-6th Grade Baseball Tournament at Lions Park in Plymouth, Wis., July 9-11. This is a video highlight reel of the championship round in which the Diamonds edged out Kiel 4-3. The Diamonds took game 1 Friday 16-7 over Plymouth Orange, then defeated the Sheboygan Falls Falcons 9-5 Saturday and hammered the Diamonds 5th/6th-Grade Lakeshore League team 21-5 Sunday. The Diamonds U11 team pounded Random Lake 13-1 in the semi-final round to advance to the championship. Edgar Ramirez smacked three homers during the tournament and Justin Landgraf put two over the fence including a 2-run homer in the championship. Weston Jurk also nailed a first-inning grand slam in game 3. The Diamonds are 8-8-1 this season as of July 15 and are in sixth place in the U11 American A Division of the Wisconsin State Youth Baseball League. The Diamonds take on the Boss Baseball Academy today, July 15 at Horace Mann Middle School in Sheboygan, then head to Pewaukee Monday, July 19. The Diamonds finish out the league season against the Heartland Hawks Red Tuesday, July 20 and the Sussex Hawks Wednesday, July 21, both games at Horace Mann. All the games begin at 6 pm There may be some make-up games from earlier rain dates. The Diamonds will end the season with the Antigo Tournament Friday-Sunday, July 30-Aug. 1.

My name is Larry Richards and I am the Co-creator and Supervising Producer of an original television show about minor league baseball. In the 2011 IHSA 3A Crestwood Super Sectional, Oak Forest Bengals defeat Jones Prep 10-2. Kyle Linares pitched 4 1/3 innings of shutout baseball before leaving with a sore back. Arthur Johnson (#13) finished the 5th by striking out 2 batters. Jones Prep scored 2 runs in the 6th to cut the deficit to 10-2, then Tom Zale (#14) relieved Johnson to start the 7th and got the top of the Jones batting order to go down 1-2-3, ending the game with a called 3rd strike. Linares also drove in 2 runs in the 6 run Bengal 5th inning. Bobby Sheppard (#10) went 3-3 and was aggressive on the bases, stealing a couple of bases and scoring on a wild pitch. Johnny Zubek (#27) and 3B Kyle Sleeman (#22) each had 2 hits for the Bengals. Coach Gatton takes his team to Joliet on Friday, the 10th to face Nazareth Academy in the 3A State Semi-finals. This is Oak Forest's first appearance in the State Finals since winning the State Championship in 1985.
