Boro v Sunderland 1993 - Gary Hamilton testimonial pitch invasion

Pre-season 1993, Boro play Sunderland at Ayresome Park in Gary Hamiltons testimonial game. Sunderland win 2-1 with goals from Lee Howey & Don Goodman with Paul Wilkinson replying for Boro. There was a bit of chew near half time as some Sunderland fans tried to escape from the away end and claim amnesty in The Boro. Luckily, The Police & some hi-vis jacket wearing gentlemen were on hand to sit on them until until they could be coaxed back into their enclosure with wooden football rattles and other things to remind themn of the early seventies.

Football Hooligans - Birmingham City V Leeds United 1985

THE creaking and crumbling of the wall was barely audible at first above the violent din of baying mobs of rival hooligans bent on trouble. Within seconds, an almighty rumble was to shake Birmingham City's St Andrew's stadium as a 12ft high wall crashed to the ground below, sending a cloud of dust and debris into the air. Cars that had been parked beneath the structure were left bent and twisted by the destructive force of the rubble that crashed on top of them. Tensions had been running high throughout the final day clash between Birmingham City and Leeds that overcast May day in 1985. Birmingham City faced Leeds on the final day of the season knowing that victory could see them top the old Division Two table if Oxford lost. Both clubs had a history of crowd trouble and tensions had been high throughout the match. "Although little in the way of promotion or relegation hinged on the result violence erupted on the terraces resulting in several police officers being injured," wrote the then Chief Constable Geoffrey Dear in his annual report for 1985. But no one could have envisaged the ugly scenes of violence that followed the final whistle. The fighting was described by Justice Popplewell, during the Popplewell Committee investigation into football in 1985 as more like "the Battle of Agincourt than a football match". A thin blue line of police officers, in little more than their tunics and helmets and armed with just a wooden truncheon, faced the baying crowds ripping down ...

football's dream machine, perfect for taming turf

Ideal for preparing your field for the big game; works famously on both synthetic and natural surfaces; 'just what the doctor ordered,' according to at least one top NFL Fields and Grounds Director, who goes on to say 'it softens up the field,' to help reduce injuries; 'it can cover an entire NFL field in less than an hour...' Another one of Wood Bay's innovations... www.woodbayturftech.com Can also be used for field or turf prep in CFL, AFL, Soccer, Baseball, Rugby, Field Hockey, Golf... and any turf sports' field activities

Derelict Hemel Hempstead locations - Kodak sports ground

Filmed in 2010, this is the former Kodak Sports ground at Wood Lane End. Kodak had a football team which over the years competed in the South Midlands and Herts County leagues. It is adjacent to more unused land, the former Lucas sports ground and the caravan park behind the Shell petrol station on Breakspear Way (see my other videos). The Kodak sports ground has been unused since around 1997, there were football pitches, tennis courts and a bowling green as well as clubhouse facilities. The grass is cut a few times a year so it's not overgrown wasteland like the neighbouring former Lucas sports ground now is. Access to the car park used to be via gates at Wood Lane End (the gates are still there and permanently locked) and there was pedestrian access via a gate at Buncefield Lane, a gate at the public footpath which runs between this land and the former caravan park which starts opposite Woodwells Cemetary and another gate between this land and the Lucas sports ground. At the time of filming, the gates at the public footpath and the Lucas sports ground were both open. There are a few signs put up recently saying that there is no public access to the fields, although this has not stopped the fields being popular with dog walkers.

Daleks on "Vision On" (RIP Tony Hart)

A brilliant minute-long clip from Vision On, shown first on 1st December 1972. Tony Hart draws the outline of a Dalek using a football-pitch line-marking machine, and then it 'comes to life'. Dalek spods will recognise these as the 1972 BBC Visual Effects wooden Dalek builds, appearing in their gunmetal 'Planet Of The Daleks' livery (though I think there's a couple of Aaru skirt sections in there as well)

The Lost Rides Of Alton Towers Part 2 - The Haunted House

Watch part 3 - Toyland Tours here uk.youtube.com . Opened in 1992, the Haunted House was a classic spook house, found in Gloomy Wood. Although you can't tell from the outside of the house, it was in fact the size of a football pitch! The journey started out on foot, with an eerie walk around a graveyard. Once you entered the house, you walked through spooky corridors and slanted rooms and then as you moved on you were greeted by a coffin style car. In groups of six you would be taken on a scary 8 minute journey of the house. The Haunted house was replaced by Duel in 2003, Duel has the same layout that the haunted house used, a lot of the ride is very similar, but there's also some stunning new effects. The main change to the ride is that it's been made interactive. Thanks for watching a Sanbrooke Production.

Worksop 1-2 FC United. 2 April 2011.

An early goal by Chris Wood on the rough Cannon Park ground was just about the only first-half action in Retford. FC United came out flying after the interval with plenty of possession and after Mike Norton's close-range header the winner seemed inevitable. A foolish handball late in the game gave Jerome Wright the chance from the spot and he duly dispatched the ball into the nets, sending the majority of the 900 crowd into raptures.

Worsthorne BMX Track near Burnley in Lancashire

Worsthorne BMX Track near Burnley in Lancashire This is a video of me going round the BMX track at Worsthorne near Burnley. It is a nice little track - you start off on a tabletop and head off over a jump before hitting a right hand berm. Then over a couple more jumps, followed by a left hand table top (tricky if your speed is too slow or too fast). Then down a straight pump track section, before another left-hand berm (well icy today); and another couple of jumps. Then a right-hand berm and another straight pump track section. It's probably about 80 metres long from start to finish, but it's well easy to go round again. Great place to learn and ride about BMX and other skill riding. Great in the summer when it's dry, but a bit hairy today when the puddles were nearly solid ice. To find it, go into the centre of Worsthorne, then follow the road towards Burnley for 100 metres, then take a right towards the football pitch. It's there in the corner - can't miss it - big blue sign with a rain shelter. If you like the video, please give it the thumbs up. If you wanna go there, NAG your parents to drive you there if you don't live near. Once you are done here, have a ride round to Hurst Wood - there's some great tracks in the wood below the reservoir. With many thanks Pellegrino Kid

Roman agora, Plaka, Market, Academia & Stadium of Αθήνα/Athens

Pláka (Greek: Πλάκα) is the picturesque old historical neighbourhood of Athens, clustered around the northern and eastern slopes of the Acropolis, and incorporating labyrinthine streets and neoclassical architecture. Plaka is built on top of the residential areas of the ancient town of Athens. During the early modern age and until the early 20th century Plaka was noted at the time as the "Albanian quarter" of Athens[1][2][3][4][5] It is visited by hundreds of thousands of tourists around the year, and is under strict zoning and conservation regulations, being the only neighborhood in Athens where all utilities (water, power, cable television, telephone, internet, and sewage) lie underground in fully accessible, custom-made tunnelling. Motor vehicles are not allowed in Plaka, and most streets are too narrow, thus not being able to accommodate them anyway. Museums in Plaka include the new Jewish Museum of Greece, the Greek Folk Art Museum and the Frissiras Museum. Excavations have proven that Adrianou Street is the oldest street in Athens still in continuous use with the exact same layout since antiquity. Of special interest is the neighborhood of Anafiotika, the part of Plaka that is built against the northern slope of the Acropolis; built by immigrants from the Aegean island of Anafi in the early 19th century, it features traditional Cycladic architecture. The Panathinaiko or Panathenaic Stadium (Greek: Παναθηναϊκό στάδιο), also known as the Kallimarmaro (Καλλιμάρμαρο, ie ...

Together We Can Sale @ Arena 10, Soi Thong Lor 10, Bangkok - 30 May 2010

The Together We Can: Grand Sale initiative is spreading outwards in all directions, after its initial success on Silom Road, the opportunity for businesses brought to a standstill by the two months of demonstrations to shift stock and generate some much needed revenue has this weekend shifted to Thong Lor, one of the city's most affluent areas, and shoppers hungry for a bargain have flocked to the new temporary location on Soi 10, just as they did when the temporary stalls were thrown up at Silom Road. The site for the sale here is the Astroturf-covered pitches of the Arena 10 indoor football complex located half way down Thong Lor Soi 10, about a kilometre-and-a-half down Sukhumvit Soi 55 away from Sukhumvit Road. Together We Can: Grand Sale is the brainchild of the Governor of Bangkok, Mom Rajawongse Sukhumbhand Paripatra, who wants to get the battered, bruised - and in many cases - burnt city back on its feet as quickly as possible, help small businesses stunted by the affects of the protests that choked the life out of the usually-heaving city centre and create a buzz that will bring a divided people together. There are plenty of visuals: posters have gone up around Bangkok and dedicated T-shirts have been hurriedly printed bearing the colours of the nation flag, these are hot items already, and an array of popular actors and singers have been trotted in to lend their stamp to the efforts. The idea of the Grand Sale first kicked off on Silom Road, the busy commercial ...

Manchester united vs Aston villa - 1957 fa cup final

The 1957 FA Cup Final was a football match played on 4 May 1957 at Wembley Stadium. The match was contested by Aston Villa and Manchester United. Villa won 2-1, with both of their goals scored by Peter McParland. Tommy Taylor got United's goal. The final was marred by a collision after only six minutes between Villa forward Peter McParland and United goalkeeper Ray Wood, which left Wood unconscious with a broken cheekbone. Wood left the pitch and Jackie Blanchflower took over in goal for United. Wood eventually rejoined the game in an outfield position as a virtual passenger before returning to goal for the last seven minutes of the game. Villa's victory gave them their seventh FA Cup title, a record number at the time. Villa have not been able to add to that total since, which has been passed by three clubs -- including Manchester United, who now hold the record with eleven wins. In December 2007, BBC Four screened a documentary, A Game of Two Eras, which compared the 1957 final with its 2007 counterpart.
