On 9/11, shortly after south tower collapsed, this footage was taken. Some very rare and interesting footage of journalist Mark Laganga who enters the lobby of World Trade Centre 7 at approximately 10:10 AM on September 11th, 2001. He begins by walking around just outside the crippled building, then sprinting inside after another man, to be confronted at the top stairs by a secret service police officer who is the "last one[s] in the building". The collapse of WTC 7 is not shown in this clip. This video has subtitles for better understanding of what is being said (some is very difficult to hear). The original World Trade Center was a complex of seven buildings in Lower Manhattan in New York City that was destroyed in the attacks that took place on September 11 2001. The site is currently being rebuilt with six new skyscrapers and a memorial to the casualties of the attacks. At the time of their completion, the first 1 World Trade Center and 2 World Trade Center were the tallest buildings in the world, surpassing the Empire State Building, which is also in Manhattan. The cost for the construction was $400 million ($2169167354 as of 2011). The original World Trade Center was designed by Minoru Yamasaki in the early 1960s using a tube-frame structural design for the twin 110-story towers. In gaining approval for the project, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey agreed to take over the Hudson & Manhattan Railroad, which became the Port Authority Trans-Hudson (PATH). In 1986 I was going to the roof of the WTC and filmed with my ARRIflex ST 16mm camera two 30m rolls of Kodak reversal film, thats about 5 Minutes. I used a Angenieux 12 - 120mm lens. The sound is recorded not on the WTC, its recorded out of the window of my hotel in the 16th floor, I´m sorry about this. I decided to go back out to the World Trade Center site one evening to see what progress has been made. As I said in my previous video I am glad to see that progress is moving forward at a fast rate now at about 1 or 2 floors per week but I am very sad about those lost on 9/11 and my heart goes out to those people who where lost on that horrible day. After getting off the PATH train I decide to walk around the entire site to get the progress from every angle possible. I also decided to ask a worker what the status was on One World Trade Center. He told me that they are up to the 56th floor and the steel is starting on the 58th floor. He also told me about the glass that starts on the 20th floor and said to count the panels which I counted up to 27 so the glass is up to the 27th floor but on the south face glass is going up on the 28th floor. So as I walk around I caught a few cranes moving things around the complex for the workers. I was also able to see through a small hole in the fence of tower 2's basement. As I continue to walk around I eventually end up at the Hudson River where we see a beautiful sunset shot of The Statue Of Liberty, Jersey City, Hoboken and back to One World Trade Center. It's been 9 years since the terrorist attacks of 9/11, I wanted to make a tribute video. What I did was select footage of the Towers from films to make a compilation. Thought y'all would like to see a video of them where they're not in flames for a change... My inspiration came from the thought that I have never gotten to see these wonderful buildings in my life, except on film. I felt an emptiness and sadness when I visited New York in 2003 and looked up at the skyline and noticed something (and I really mean two things) missing. Films used were "Gangs of New York", "Trading Places", "King Kong", "Spiderman", "Coming To America", "Guns N' Roses - Paradise City", "King Kong", "We're Back", "Man On Wire", "Limp Bizkit - Rollin", "City of New York Vs. After getting off the PATH train I decide to take another World Trade Center update video. Again I walk around the entire complex to see what work has been done since my last visit. The work is moving very fast. The tower steel is now at the 65th floor and glass is up to the 37th floor. Tower 4 has also got taller since I was there. Now there is also glass starting at the very bottom of Tower 4 which shows that progress is being made. Also progress is being made at the memorial. I also noticed 2 helicopters hovering around the Freedom Tower. I guess they are news helicopters. Viewer discretion is strongly advised due to graphic contents. On the morning of September 11th 2001 almost 3000 innocent people were murdered by Al Qaeda terrorists. As many as 200 people jumped / fell to their deaths from their burning offices on the uppermost floors of the World Trade Center before both towers collapsed. They symbolize the true horror of that day as well as the desperate conditions inside the towers. Intense heat and suffocating smoke pushed people to break their office windows to get some fresh air. People fell one after the other, in pairs, and in groups at a time. Since that tragic day, images/footages of these victims were kept away from the public which, I believe, is disrespectful. We should not deny nor ignore what these victims did at the very last moments of thier lives. They deserve to be confronted, acknowledged, and not be forgotten as much as we would never forget 9/11. May this be a tribute to them. WE WILL NEVER FORGET.
