I apologize for that awkward reverb in the audio... I don't know WHY it picks it up so loud but I couldn't get rid of it. Giving away a copy of Dirt 3 for PC via Steam if anyone is interested. So one day I get a message from this guy named BlameTruth. Typical battle request, I'm all about to delete it and in the corner of my eye I see "100000 subscribers" and I decide to read it. Had no idea what he did, but I'm glad I read that message now. So most of you are likely familiar with him already. It was to be his first WiFi battle, but he's been watching and learning for a good amount of time. I figured this should be fun, I'll use a couple guys that I like a lot but otherwise wouldn't put into a serious match, and I'll go along with not using a Blissey like one dude a while back asked me to. ; ) I listen to you guys. And holy crap, for his first match, dude is legit good. If he hadn't told me, I'd have never guessed. He had a little bit of hax on his side, of course....but thats what makes it interesting! Comes down to a stalling touch-and-go situation at the end, do I make the right move? ---To explain what happened: Originally in our first match, he got a crit with his T-tar on my Gross, and then a little bit later one of his pokes was in a HeartGold-only ball that my Diamond can't load, so the game dropped our connection. We agree to replay with same moves, and of course the crit was not repeated. So we fiddeled around with the situation trying to replicate it as <b>...</b>

So here we go with Round 3 vs Heathcliff This battle absolutely could have gone either way. I make a couple of minor blunders that I don't really think were bad in theory, but I certainly had better options. I gotta start shoring up my play here. A couple coin flip turns of damage variation, some for him, some for me. and only one of us can come out on top. This one is a doozy and things are gettin' real now! DAMAGE CALC FOR THE MILOTIC: Taken from: pokedex-br.info 236, 240, 242, 246, 248, 252, 254, 258, 260, 264, 266, 270, 272, 276, 278, 282 are the possible outcomes he could have dealt to me. This is assuming Modest Max Ludicolo. GKnot is 80 BP (312 after boosts). I was at 279 HP, this means he did exact MAXIMUM damage, as you can see he can do 282 or 278 as the next integer down. I had a recover + lefties on the way for 207 HP returned, so even if he hit me to 1, I go up to 208 and then switch next turn. Crazy stuff, especially considering the damage variation issues later in the match for both of us getting exact average multiple times in a row. As always, tournament held at www.xat.com

In the voice of Mega Man Volnut from Mega Man Legends when you start up the game.... HERE WE GO! At long last. The finals. A grueling road. A roller coaster of obstacles and controversy and blood sweat tears boiling down to this match. Win, and claim eternal glory. Lose, and.... well okay its double elimination so lose and we rematch for eternal glory. But I'd rather have that glory with a goose egg in my loss column. This match starts off with a BANG. No joke. Literally. He blows up turn 1 and we start the match 5 on 5. I get a crit while he gets up SR and we go to a VERY quick 5-4 game, and then devious mind playing of high level pokes ensues. Raven played very well, I think he got the better of me in prediction, or at least -- he got the most important turns. Should I have gotten them, the game is a blowout and instead we end up with everything one can wish for in a finals. A fistfight to the very end and there is only one question remaining.... Somebody once told me in a shadowy era of my life that you get out of things what you put into them... if you decide to sit back and do nothing instead, then nothing will happen and you'll get nothing in return. Partly because its a lot of work to find a guy, register FC, and play him for a "quick" 1v1 fight, the match itself takes longer than the setup... so it only worked well if you're in a group like on a B4C stream or a Xat tournament or something. So it just kinda hit me last night while eating Ramen noodles that I was in xat.com and realized I could do some of them there. -- My take: I know I said this all already in the video, but I'll just reiterate it here. Its much less fun to "Smogonize" the theme by making guys specifically FOR 1v1 fights, putting on lots of Scarf/Lum/Sash guys when they normally wouldn't be that way. ^ That doesn't mean those items are banned by any means, they're useful.... its the making of a pokemon outside any normal competitive use to be used in this different manor that I want no part in. So you find a guy in your box and use him AS IS for your 1v1. No item change, no move change, just roll with it. Who knows what the other guy will bring and you have no idea if you'll have an advantage or not.

Wait....... what? Yes yes yes I know. I just did that. Welcome stranger to my first BW battle post after over 4 years of an epic 4th gen cycle. Now by no means am I abandoning 4th, I'm gunna keep uploading something of each but it looks like the time has come to get my feet wet and at least give it a fair shot. Perhaps unfortunately to say, I kinda had fun. Granted this was about as un-serious as a formal battle can go..... and I do believe Cote held back. I still have little idea of what I'm getting into but for the first vid, it wasn't so bad. As far as Webcam is concerned: It was the way of the previous gen but it shouldn't be the way of THIS gen. Even I can't stand the way it looks, the 5th gen lighting and focus is just..... its just different. It doesn't come out well on my cam no matter how hard I try, and word on the street is that I'm not the only one who notices/feels this way either. So I'm working on getting screen recording going for 5th, but I keep running into issues. At the moment, my NoGBA emulator can't load the save file I'm providing for it and I do not know why. I'm doing nothing different than when I did some HGSS emulated videos, and those had no problems, but this apparently does. Anyway, on with the battle....... Coté is a great guy and certainly a great battler. I thikn I've played him once before and lost, and I know he's had some success on his own merit as well. I was supposed to play ZMT and Mudquaza with them as well, but due to complications it didn't turn out that way. Some of you may have seen this already. Thats great if you have, this version is a TAD different. Some of you have not, which is great cause I think you'll enjoy it much. Who knows how much more often I can do something like this. Vintage classics aren't supposed to come around every battle after all! -----------Information for newcomers-------- One major point of this team was to build a team from the ground up that was meant to play together, something I haven't done in a LONG time. Years, literally. The other was to do something unique, I'm known for being a Smogon/Shoddy hater so I needed to make sure everything was my own, and not spam some massive OU standard whoring. While a couple movesets may APPEAR standard, absolutely everything on this team was thought up and placed by me without consulting. If moves happen to coincide with a "standard" set, that just means we're both right. However: There will be vast and unique differences in the EV spreads, held items, natures, etc for the pokes---thus I feel I'm allowed to call them my own and call them unique. Besides, Torment Tran is like 5th on the Smogon list, so its more like sub-standard, and again... unique EVs for custom spread, like everyone <b>...</b>

Double roulettes are rather interesting. Theres too many guys out at once, and unless you play Doubles on purpose---your pokes are geared towards single oriented metagame. I was going to introduce it as a new piece of my formula in some of my next vids, but as this was a milestone battle for him I gotta oblige to his timing, thus this "gets in the way" otherwise of my series and I forgot that you guys aren't expecting it yet. Anyway, I had a ton of fun. He picked me some really crappy dudes, all flying, all novelty, and the first half of the match I'm STILL fighting his two leadoffs lol. ($%^&*ing Vaporeon...) Eventually though, one move makes all the difference and I'm able to pull a huge 180 on the match, until he brings in Chuck Norris. Who knows what happens after that.....I guess you'll have to watch to find out.

So I'll just start from the top A 'Grab bag" is when you throw a bunch of random dudes together you feel like using, regardless of tier, type, style, etc. You could also think of it as a roulette battle in which you pick the guys at random yourself in a way. There were a few guys I felt like just screwing around with, so I found me a match in the tournament Xat that has been slowly dwindling. -----Please read----- EDITED!!! Proof. First match: His His houndoom hit Blissey for over 400 damage with Flamethrower after plotting. Damage calcs prove this impossible even with max sp atk on his Houndoom. Second match: Slowbro living a Grass knot from Life Orb Ape, only possible if Max HP and Max Sp Def, but watch his other vids and you'll know his Slowbro has max Def too. I also noticed the damage he was doing with Surf in his other vids, also max Sp Atk. Finally: His Blissey lived a CC from Life Orb Ape, which is fine. Max def and Max HP CAN do that, though rare. That same Blissey however then outsped Shedinja, Blissey needs over 200 EVs to do so....which is impossible. Also from his own videos: I saw his Garchomp live an Ice Beam from a powerful Ice-beamer, and no Yache berry. Also proof of breaking the 510 limit. Notice all his pokes have max HP IV too. So it's pretty apparent he has access to hacking. Plus, his brother is Cemerica. Conclusion: He uses 255 EVs in all his stats. Plain and simple proven fact from damage calculations. He is arrogant and boasty as all hell, yet clearly still sucks. Kids these days... Edit: More proof, this is funny, he ERASED ALL HIS VIDEOS. This speaks for itself. This video shall be the popping of its cherry and I think it worked jsut fine. I'll still fiddle with it some between vids until I figure stuff out on the fly but I like it. Hey everyone! So I battled this guy whom is potentially my longest standing subscriber. Battle 15, wayyyyy back in August 2007 when I had prolly around 50 subs. Took him a while, but finally got a battle lol So at the start I jabber about a stall war and being boring. Its really not that bad after watching it again. There are 7 pokes involved in the stall war, so its not like just wasting time between 2-3 guys. There is SOME of that, but it definitely has a purpose and there isn't much total stalling, we're both trying to get a small advantage and don't want to screw anything up. I also vastly underrate Gengar's power. High SpAtk + STAB + SE + LO and I never really go for kills. In my last couple of vids I coulda killed some Apes or something, but I didn't. In this vid I neglect to attack an Offensive Celebi because I'm used to Defensive and I don't know how much it will hurt. I certainly would knock the thing out at 75% and that caused some time to be wasted by trying to get a little more residual damage on it instead. Oops. And considering the number of other battles i have going to 15 minutes (and will have in the future) this one doesn't really feel that long. I didn't have to cut anything, and taking out intro/startup/credits its really only like 12-13 minutes. =P Enjoy guys. When did YOU subscribe? What battle number? Can any of you top 15?

Hello boys! I'm baaaaaaaaaaaaaack (Independence Day reference) www.youtube.com He's a chill cat from the Xat! (www.xat.com Too bad he deleted his half of this battle, so you can't compare sides. Oh well! Part 2 of our 3-way finals. Soo last time on MTGXerxes... Gold did in fact defeat Chongo 2-0, whom defeated me 2-0.... this means if I beat Gold 2-0, we ALL tie and have to do something else for tiebreakers. If Gold wins, he wins overall and I get 3rd place. If I win 1-0, then Gold is the victor on Tiebreakers and I still get 3rd place for losing to Chongo. This means I need a 3-0 or better to be victorious. Its certainly possible! And it adds a very intricate level of precision to the fight. Do I sacrifice a guy for a safe switch? Do I risk an offensive switch in on prediction? What if I'm wrong? What if he crits? What if he subs and sets up while I'm switching off? Things are dicey. My team I got is pretty solid, but its tanky and I'd love to keep Toxic Spikes up. Unfortunately, he's got a Forretress whom spins away, may Explode for a kill, and isn't afraid of Toxic! Its going to be very difficult to kill his guys, let alone keep mine alive.

For more info/participation in tournaments and events: xat.com Well well well! I managed to pull a win out of the first match (literally, managed it somehow...) and here we are in the second. Now: A little info on the tourney format. It was 12 people, so we had four groups of 3. Each person played the other 2 members in his/her group, thus you could be 2-0, 1-1, or 0-2 with the leader moving on into a semifinals bracket. In the event of everyone going 1-1 (which happened in two of the four groups) you would need some sort of Tiebreaker for the "rock paper scissors" effect of everyone splitting games. Thus: Scores were kept track of, and the person with the best overall score would earn the highest tie breaker and move on. I had a 4-0 win in my first match, thus sitting at a +4. Quickbob lost his match to the other guy that I just beat to a 1-0 and putting him at a -1 overall. Therefore: He would have to beat me 5-0 in order for us to have a tied record in +/- poke scores, and with him beating me he would move on. Therefore: Even if I LOST in a 4-0 rout, I would still advance to the next round. Thats a pretty darn good position to be in. It also however, can play some mind games on you if you're not careful. This gives each player two approaches. Play for the win as if its a game on its own, or play for the score of the tournament to advance. He certainly went for it, making all kinds of moves and switches just to baffle me -- and to not let his pokes die. Meanwhile for <b>...</b>

Hey guys! Not quite the same NU team, I'll get back to that series in a bit. She posted her side too early so I gotta post mine early to match it -_- This was just a fun BP team I made up and wanted to play a match with. I've since changed the moves around a bit since there were quite a few issues....anyway I went up against just about all the worst things a BP team can do. Lead faster than my whole team with Sleep + Fake out, TWO exploders, surprise scarfer, and hax. So I was never able to get a chain going, it got broken like 3-5 times. Anyway, I hope you enjoy it! I'll have up a couple other matches with this team later, I just love BP chains. ......and woot for max time! lol
