Dennis Yarmouth High School Students Perform "Lip Dub" (05-19-11)

Students at the Dennis Yarmouth Regional High School participated in a "lip dub" on Thursday (05-19-2011. DY Junior John Terrio was the producer and director of the lip dub. The performed the lip dub to "You make my dreams come true" by Hall and Oats. Several hundred students performed in the lip dub. According to wikipedia, a lip dub is a type of video that combines lip synching and audio dubbing to make a music video. It is made by filming individuals or a group of people lip synching while listening to a song or any recorded audio then dubbing over it in post editing with the original audio of the song. There is often some form of mobile audio device used such as an MP3 players. Often they look like simple music videos, although many involve a lot of preparation and production. Lip dubs can be done in a single unedited shot that often travels through different rooms and situations within a building. They have become popular with the advent of mass participatory video content sites like YouTube.

Rollercoaster (Scenic Railway) On-Ride HD POV Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach UK

My first film in HD (with my new camera). This ride is located at the Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach, Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, England, UK. It first opened in the park in April 1932. It has been operating ever since, with now just one long train (with 30 seats) going along the track. It has a top speed of 45mph, and a height of 70ft (21m). The tallest drop is just 51ft, but still gives your stomach a good feeling, especially if you sit near the back. It is one of only two rollercoasters in the world where a 'brakesman' is required, the only scenic rollercoaster in the UK, and the second tallest and fastest wooden coaster in the UK. REVIEW: I have to say, as Great Yarmouth is my most local pleasure beach, I really enjoy going there and I am quite a big fan of this particular ride. It is probably the only ride in the park that actually gets a proper queue at times, and definately the most popular, despite its age. It may not neccesarily be considered a family ride, but it is good fun for thrill seekers with its long duration and fairly big drop. (This ride is 80 years old, and is still good fun). 8 out of 10

Ballad of the Yarmouth Castle (by Gordon Lightfoot)

Ballad Of The Yarmouth Castle by Gordon Lightfoot from "Sunday Concert" (United Artists, 1969) (Am) Well, it's four o'clock in the (C) afternoon The (G) anchors have been weighed From Mi(Am)ami to (G)Nassau She's (Am) bound across the waves She's heading south through (C) Biscayne Bay In(G)to the open sea Yarmouth (Am) Castle, she's a-(G)dying and don't (Am) know it Now the many years she's been to sea She's seen the better times She gives a groan of protest As they cast away her lines And the grumble of her engines And the rust along her spine Tells the Castle she's too old to be sailing But the sands run out within her heart A tiny spark glows red It smoulders through the evening There's laughter overhead Now the dinner's served and the cards are dealt And the drinks are passed around Deep within the fire starts a-burning Now it's midnight on the open sea And the moon is shining bright Some people join the party And others say goodnight There's many who are sleeping now It's been a busy day And a tiny wisp of smoke is a-rising "Oh Lord," she groans, "I'm burning!" "Let someone understand" But her silent plea is wasted In the playing of the band Everybody's dancing on the deck And they're having such a time Then a voice says "Shut up and deal, I'm losing" Deep within the Yarmouth Castle The fire begins to glow It leaps into the hallways And climbs and twists and grows And the paint she wore to keep her young Oh Lord, how well it burns And soon that old fire is a-raging ...

Peter Pears sings 'Yarmouth Fair' (Peter Warlock)

Peter Pears (tenor) and Benjamin Britten (piano) perform Peter Warlock's 1924 arrangement of a Norfolk folk song. The recording dates from 1956. The full text (by Hal Collins) is: As I rode down to Yarmouth fair The birds they sang "Good day, good day," And the birds they sang "Good day!" O, I spied a maid with golden hair A-walking along my way - A tidy little maid so trim and fair, And the birds they sang "Good day, good day," And the birds they sang "Good day!" I said: "My dear, will you ride with me?" And the birds they sang, "Go on, go on!" And the birds they sang "Go on!" She didn't say "yes" and she didn't say "no," And the birds they sang "Heigh ho, heigh ho!" And the birds they sang "Heigh ho!" I lifted her right on to my mare, O light as a feather was she, I'd never set eyes on a girl so fair, So I kiss'd her bravely one, two, three, OI kiss'd her one, two, three. Then on we rode to Yarmouth fair Past field and green hedge-row, And in our hearts no fret nor care, And the birds they sang "Hullo, hullo!" And the birds they sang "Hullo!" At the fair the fun was fast and free, And the birds they sang "Hurray, hurray!" And the birds they sang "Hurray!" The band struck up a lively air On fiddle and fife and drum. The maid and me we made a pair, And we danced to kingdom come, Ho-ho! And we danced to kingdom come. The lads and lasses cheer'd us on, My bonny maid and me, we danced till stars were in the sky, And the birds they sang "Goodbye, goodbye!" And the birds they ...

Yarmouth Fishing Boats Leaving Harbour (1896)

A decaying print of this long-lost film was discovered and duplicated just in time for 1996's celebration of 100 years of projected film in Britain. Among those who saw it in 1896 were members of the Royal Family, at a special screening of films put on by Birt Acres, pioneering maker of this and other very early "actuality" films. His precise motives may be impossible to reconstruct, and his shots of fishing smacks taken from Great Yarmouth's harbour are painfully brief. But they do suggest an early interest in film as a documentary record. Of similar length to the earliest web films of a century later, this is an example of how products of new media in their infancy have their own fragmentary fascination and beauty. (Patrick Russell) For more information about Birt Acres see www.screenonline.org.uk You can watch almost 1000 other complete films and TV programmes from the BFI National Archive free of charge at the new BFI Mediatheque - www.bfi.org.uk
