An Interview With Young The Giant
Young The Giant are looming large these days. The Southern Californian outfit is spending their summer finding all kinds of ways to get noticed, thanks in no small part to the kind of tireless work ethic that finds the band showcasing the soaring, warm weather libations of their self-titled debut on a number of continents. Somehow, vocalist Sameer Gadhia and drummer Francois Comtois recently found some time to stop by our stoop to discuss bits of the band's history, some of the motivations and inspirations that propel them along, as well as share a few candid war stories from the road.

After a great concert and barely saving the camera from memorycard failure, in the physical sense of inserting the card incorrectly, the Californian quintet Young the Giant returned for their encore in the Paard van Troje - The Hague! Their smash single My Body geared up to be a real crowdpleaser. The guitar started wailing, but when the rythm guitar started the pounding riff the crowd went berserk. Luckily, I was standing very close to the stage so I could escape the clutches of a 'dutch moshpit', whatever that may mean and got better shots in the proces. What followed was a high energy performance, even including some crowdsurfing by the singer. And yes, that's my hand pulling him off the stage by his belt, insanity. Long story short, it was the only way to properly end the night and I hope that this video shows just that, for you all to rewatch, preview, or just pass by when looking for live footage of Young the Giant.
