As I said in the video I normally use a different method of removing the hub from the bearing assembly by using a slide hammer. I also normally use a press to reinstall the hub into the new bearing instead of hitting it with a hammer. Life is not perfect and we sometimes have to improvise as I did here. I know a few of you will ask about the size fasteners that I used to hammer the bearing out, I used hardened (8.8) 10x1.25 bolts to do the job. I know I'm jumping around but it will all become clear in the end, I hope. This is once again that same Accord that I worked on but this time I focus on cleaning the EGR passages. Over time these passages become clogged with what is called "hard carbon deposits", many speculate as to the origins of this material but it is in my opinion the product of condensation and carbon buildup inside these passages that seems to contribute to this problem. The fix is pretty straight forward as you can see but the diagnosis can be tricky at times. Sometimes the check engine light will come on for an EGR flow code, but on earlier models EGR flow is not detected by the ECU and in those cases it might manifest as a failure of an emissions test for high NOx emissions. When this is the case the symptoms sometimes include, surging on the highway or a misfire under load. For the most part EGR's are easy to check but there are some EGR systems that are very difficult to service and repair. All I can say is to consult with the service manual or a knowledgeable tech whenever you run into a system your not familiar with. A video illustrating how your 94 Accord's engine will probably sound if it has a bent valve. Bent valves often happen in cars containing intereference engines, such as this particular model of Honda. They occur most often when the timing belt breaks during operation of the engine. This is an expensive repair, requiring the engine head to be dismanted. To avert this disaster, change your timing belt every 90k miles or sooner. This particular car had about 178k miles on it at the time of the video. There was a bent valve in cylinder 2, and the cylinder lost all compression.

Video transcript: The style of the car really appeals to me. It is more distinctive, new and premium. The biggest positive change of the new car vs. the current car is the sportiness and the style of the vehicle. The lines are fantastic. The new car is an evolution of the current car until you see them side-by-side and you actually see that the new one is far more muscular. It's more distinctive. It's got a greater presence than the outgoing car. The extra width of the car has really worked very well. I just love the wheel arches - the bit that actually creases over the metal. That looks really nice to me. It feels really premium. 17 inch alloy wheels - for the first time, it's got more of a cockpit feel to it. Half-leather seats. The fascia, dashboard, I think is genuinely premium. It appeals to me personally. The instrumentation feels good. One of the objectives of designing the new car was to bring those levels of refinement and quality that you would normally expect to see in the class above, rather than in the D segment. And I think we've absolutely achieved that within the Accord. And I think that's particularly seen within the Tourer. It's such a close match to the Tourer concept that we showed last year in Frankfurt, and I guess people didn't expect that we would do that.
