Just as Earl Scruggs set the standard for bluegrass banjo during his tenure with Lester Flatt, the fiddlers who worked with Lester and Earl in The Foggy Mountain Boys did the same during the band's 20 year tenure. Ron Stewart, fiddler with The Boxcars and a go-to session player, has made a life's history of this music, and shares his insight on this DVD. Ron starts with a look at Arthur Smith, the granddaddy of American fiddle, to show how much he influenced everyone that followed in the 1940s. From there he takes six prominent Flatt & Scruggs fiddlers and teaches representative recorded solos from each of them.
