Here's quite a rare video about Latte And Macaron; the AIBO robots from Sony. (Song NAMCO)

Tripp my Sony Aibo ERS-7 M3 dancing to basshunters song Dota. I made this dance using a program called skitter. Also the aibo is the one playing the music. The dance isnt quite complete yet but oh well thought id upload this anyway. :)

This video is part of aa series of exploratory studies on animal robot interactions in collaboration with the ethology group of the University of Eötvös University (Hungary). The purpose of these experiments is to investigate, from an ethological point of view, how much dogs see AIBO as a conspecific. The questions adressed are: what is the influence on the dog's reactions of movement, smell, presence or absence of eyes, sounds, etc. More information: www.fkaplan.com

Do you crave the companionship of a pet, but can't be dogged by the commitment? New research suggests that robotic dogs can give you some of the same benefits you'd get from the real thing, as this ScienCentral News video explains. www.sciencentral.com

NOTE: I HAD TO AUDIO SWAP THIS since it got pulled for copyright violation....so.....yeah :( The original audio was God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen by Barenaked Ladies and Sarah McLaughlin This is the x-mas dance I wrote using skitter 3.1 -- folks at GAP saw it however little aibo butts don't slide well on carpet, so the test aibo dancing couldn't recover each time it would do a handstand. . . so alas, no group dance could be done :-( This dance is definitly best done on hard flooring or foam mats. Film effects: Brightness and contrast adjustment, cropping. Sound: mp3 file used because the background sound didn't turn out well. see Ticket (the white aibo) in her own movie about why she became a stunt aibo!!: www.youtube.com

This swimming suit was designed by Letissia Perrin and Tiffany Tripet, two former ECAL students (www.ecal.ch). This project was initiated during a workshop with Frederic Kaplan, former researcher at the Sony Computer Science Laboratory in Paris and Martino d'Esposito, industrial designer, at ECAL. In this video the robot learns how to swim using a software architecture based on artificial curiosity developed by by Pierre-Yves Oudeyer and Frederic Kaplan. More info on aibo.playroom.fr

☆★Thanks for many subscribe for my channel!! My name is AIBO. I started beatbox about 2 years ago, but I have never upload my beatbox video in my channel. I wear my favorite YUKATA, Japanese garment, a casual summer kimono. Thanks for lisning my beatbox-♪

This video was taken during my very first encounter with an Aibo ERS-7M3, which wasn't mine yet at the time. Pluriel (Pleo) meets Wammes (Aibo) for the first time. But alas... Aibo doesn't really know what to do with Pleo's advances and replies with a dry "ok". Still, the results are cute and hilarious a like.

A robot can learn to walk just by exploring smartly a sensorimotor space. In this experiment by Frederic Kaplan and Pierre-Yves Oudeyer, a progress-driven algorithm controls the movement of the different motors of a four-legged robot. For each motor, it chooses the period, the phase and the amplitude of a sinusoidal signal. The prediction system tries to predict the effect of the different sets of parameters in the way the image captured by a camera placed on the robots head is modified. This indirectly reflects the movement of its torso. At each iteration the algorithm produces the values for the next parameter set in order to maximize its expected progress in prediction. This means it practices the movements that are more likely to make it learns. After three hours of this curiosity-driven exploration, the robot masters a set of versatile walking skills. It learned how to walk although it was never directly rewarded for walking.
