Alphie lived at the Chimfunshi Wildlife Orphanage in Zambia, Africa. He was rescued from poachers that ripped him from his mother when he was a baby. She was killed for the bush meat trade, and Alphie became a "pet" to a storeowner who kept him chained around his waist for 2 years. I got to spend a month with him in the wild. He was sweet and smart and fun and funny. And even though he was the smallest of the bunch it was him who all the other chimps came to when they were scared. He was totally the alpha of the group, hence his name. I came to learn a few years later that Alphie had been killed by a cobra while doing what he loved to do most: frolicking around in the wild and exploring old, fallen logs...I miss him.

Try and find a place for the night Lucky enough, i came upon a rather nice looking hotel A bit old though but it'll do So i got my things and went inside It was cold walking closer to the hotel There was a man at the counter Probably around his 60's or late 50's So i asked him "hello?" "excuse me sir?" The man turned around "How may i help you?" -the old man asked "Ah yes please, im lookin' for a room for the night, think u could help me?" "Here you go" -the old man said "Whats the catch?" I said "No catch, its free... but i must warn you dont look at the room with no numbers" "ah yes, no numbers... got it" I said Few seconds later i went straight for my room, i was so exhausted. I took the stairs As i walked down the hallway... it felt soo cold... Ahead i could see the door with no numbers but didnt bother. All thru out the night, i couldn't stop thinkin' about what that old man had said I was so curious... very curious I got out of Bed and looked the hall way.. it was too quiet... He LOVES treats and will do anything just to earn a piece of dog kibble! He is fantastic at sit, lay down, shake, and he's doing really well at going into the crate and laying down on his own for treats. We are just starting to work on closing the door to the crate. Alphie LOVES to go for walks and shows his enthusiasm by pulling you to go faster...he still needs a bit of work on that. We use a front clip harness www.softouchconcepts.com and it works great with him! Alphie is a great blend of playful, silly, happy puppy and focused, relaxed housepet. He needs a home with a fenced yard where he can run and play but he will spend lots of time relaxing by your feet, too, as he is very good about settling down and napping, gazing intently at you trying to figure out what else he can do to earn a treat, or playing quietly with his toys. He would like to be an indoor dog. Alphie was great with the kids we had him around and would even do all his tricks for them and learn new tricks they taught him. He seemed like he would like to chase cats, though, so it is recommended he go to a home without cats. He was great with dogs when he <b>...</b>
