Both of these high school players practice at their games with an ambidextrous approach. They have been taught to play this style since early childhood so it is quite natural for them now. Often times people cannot tell what is their dominant side. This is a true indicator that there is a tremendous amount of brain balancing that they have harnessed. In this video clip there are segments where editing has been done in which the footage is mirror imaged. By this manner the strokes of the left and right sides can be compared to each other. Sometimes what appears to be a left forehand is actually a right handed one and vice versa. It starts to begin to appear so seeless that there is no apparent difference. When Chris and James study their stroke mechanics they then detect the subtle differences and improve upon the symmetry of their shots. In the history of the game of tennis there have been players who have achieved a certain degree of ambidexterity in their playing styles. Those players include John Bromwich, Beverly Baker Fleitz and Luke Jensen. Monica Seles also developed a very ambidextrous game with her style of two hands from both sides. However there has never been any players that have gone to the extent of developing a truly ambidextrous game. They argue that there is not enough time to switch the racquet from one hand to the other. However, if a player has a two hand backhand to compliment the ambidextrous game that helps solve the problem of switching the racquet when the exchange is too fast to do otherwise. If you use logic in the argument for ambidextrous tennis playing one can say for certain that world class handball players have been trained to be ambidextrous, for it is the only way that one can compete at this sport. Chris feels that there is plenty of time to switch the racquet in most of his ground stroke rallies. He feels that he is only scratching the surface as to how far he can take his game. In this video clip the footage is sometimes mirrored imaged over so that Chris can compare the stroke mechanics against each side. Sometimes what appears to be a right hand forehand is really a left one and vice versa. This is one of the techniques in the mirror imaging methodology used in training the athlete to become ambidextrous. This technique has been explained in the book Whole Brain Power written by Michael Lavery and Gregory Walsh.

DESCRIPTION: PART A - bullpups in general: The main drawback of side-ejection bullpup rifles they are not truly ambidextrous. A rifle configured for right-handed shooters can't quickly be shot from the left shoulder around the left side of an obstacle, and vice-versa, as most conventional rifles can be. James Lavery plays a style of ambidextrous tennis which is quite unusual. He has the ability to hit a one hand forehand from each side as well as backhands from both sides. He is currently working on the ability to serve with each arm too. His brothers Chris and Steven also play this style of ambidextrous tennis. Many people believe that there is not enough time to switch the racquet from one hand to the other, however with the option of a backhand in the equation, there is no problem. The neurological evidence that is available to the sports world suggests that training athletes to become ambidextrous has benefits. I've got a question regarding the ambidextrous thumb safety on the 1911. My thumb safety is very difficult to push on when the gun is cocked (impossible when uncocked, as usual). I had assumed it should be easy. I notice that if I pull back the hammer further than the point at which it cocks, the thumb safety will snap on easily, as long as the hammer is being held back while I do it. Is this by design or is the mechanism not working quite right? Thanks!
