Demo of the Granger M100 SuperPlexi amplifier, with various classic rock riffs . www.GrangerAmp.com for pricing, specs, available options, etc. This amp is all-tube, hand-wired and inspired by the late 60's era Marshall Superlead, and has a PPIV (Lar-Mar) master volume, and specific component value changes made to my personal preferences. It utilizes Solen and Sozo signal caps, JJ, Sprague, and F&T filter caps, JJ EL34 and ECC83S tubes. PT, OT and choke are Magnetic Components, Inc, made to my specs. The recording is a 2000 Gibson Les Paul Standard Plus (tuned to STANDARD 440 tuning since someone said tuning half step doesn't demonstrate the true tone of the amp... yeah right!) plugged straight into the amp. The cabinet is a standard 4x12 made of 3/4" baltic birch loaded with 8 ohm Mojotone BV-25s, wired in series/parallel for 8 ohms. The mic is a Shure SM57, into a dbx386 mic pre, and recorded on a Roland VS-1680. Reverb and tape echo effects added at mixdown. In this segment, we get our first demos of the Mephisto and Panama amps. The Mephisto is two amps in one--loaded with two 6V6 and two EL84 tubes. Play each channel separately or blend them together for a unique sound. With both channels cranked, it pushes about 25 watts and has built in attenuation. In addition, the Panama goes falls in line with Bogner's International line of amps. This model is a 6V6-loaded, 4-watt bedroom monster with plenty of gain for any style of player. This is the Jet City Amplification 100 watt head. Cab used is a splawn 4X12 w/celestion G12K100's and 100 watt Scumback XH75-LHDC speakers. Mic'ing was done with an SM57 and MD421 on the cab and a rode K2 and logitech C600 webcam mic. The rode and C600's audio comprise about 80% of the audio mix and the other 20% is from the direct mic'ing.

I used a Historic Gibson SG Les Paul, and my trusty white coilly cable from Bullet cables. The Jag Jr. is so bitchin...112 combo in Viking Purple...tone for days...wish I could crank it up for the demo, but my camera will not let me...it gets all distored and farty if I turn it up...so just imagine the tonal possibilities of this little 17 watt monster! This is a short Fender Rhodes amplification test comparing a Roland KC-350 keyboard amp and a Fender Twin Reverb. The signal is then split using a boss AB switch where the KC-350 is connected to channel A and the fender twin is connected to channel B. The signal on channel A goes through a tube pre-amp and then into the KC-350. The signal on channel B goes directly into the Fender Twin Reverb. The recordings where made using identical microphones and settings on both amps. The final recording is made by connecting the tube pre-amp directly to the mixer. ------------------------ October 6. 2007 Thank you ! Well, do you need a tube amp to get a great Rhodes sound ? In general: NO ! Many tube amps drain the dynamics from the characteristic Rhodes sound. Unless you go for a more harsh and cutting sound, you should look for alternative amplification. Many Rhodes recordings that you can hear on records are recorded directly from the harp of the Rhodes using a DI-box or pre-amp. There is no need for tubes, unless you want to crunch things up a little bit. High quality solid-state pre-amps will do a very good job ! Actually I have used a Crunch Master in this video. I have owned the device since 1988 and I am quite happy with it. What makes it very special is that it's not only a pre-amp, but also a 1 watt power amp, providing the more nice sounding power-amp crunch/distortion. If you want to try it with the Rhodes I recommend you to use the cab-output (it has a cabinet simulator <b>...</b>
