Simply the best release of 2009! Gergõ Kós also known as Shiftplu5f8 released his debut ep on Dangerbox last year, which got lots of support, from Tiesto, Markus Schulz, Nic Chagal, & Ronski Speed. Now he comes forth with a second ep, presenting himself as Amster Dyen. He collaborates with producer Zoltán Somogyvári also known as Blue Potion. They have recently remixed for Enhanced, and now with their very own release on Dangerbox, together these two Hungarian producers are known as "Airplay 47." Their song "Be Free" is a monster trance track, with roaring/rolling bass stabs, and glitchy saw synths playing throughout the track combined with beautiful chanting vocals; Which keeps you pumped up for there second track on the ep "Karma". It fits well as a B-side with "Be Free" using similar progressions with a simple bass, layered out on the track and a great trancey breakdown. Remixing Be Free is Mat Zo, his remix have already been supported twice on on Above & Beyond's "Trance Around The World" Episodes #263, #264), Anguilla Project doing a great chilled out version of the track, Sovve delivering more of a deep & cold mix, and Xspective Sense taking "Be Free" up to his own style of Progressive. Bundaberg's favourite son Tommy Trash is back with a new slice of electro goodness, inspired by a recent six week sojourn to Amsterdam. Fresh off the back of his signing to Ministry of Sound and the huge Electro House Sessions tour with the Stafford Brothers, Trash has got back behind the laptop to create the Amsterdam EP. Containing two tracks imaginatively named Amsterdam-01 and Amsterdam-02, both tracks have similarities in their rhythm and sonic flavour, yet both quite unique in their own right. Amsterdam-02 starts with a thicker beat than its older brother and immediately introduces some new elements like ratatat snares and some quick-fire bass, hold the distortion. Adding some melodic tinkling in the background, side two seems to know where it is going from the start with the bassline reminding of a slightly minimal taste and then a great breakdown explodes into a perfectly stripped down bassline, clap and beat. Amsterdam-02 just feels a lot more cohesive rather than trying to do too many things in it, he plays to its strengths and the track is all the better for it.

"Idioteque" samples a four-chord progression from Paul Lansky's "mild und leise," one of the very first pieces of music created entirely by computer. When Lansky was composing electronic music in the 1970s, it required months of processing time on huge supercomputers just to "render" the final sound. The chord progression used by Radiohead was itself taken by Lansky from a leitmotif of the Wagner opera Tristan und Isolde. Many people have interpreted the title "Idioteque" as a hybrid of "idiot" and "discothèque." Thom Yorke does not directly explain his lyrics, but "Idioteque" has been described by others as an "apocalyptic" song, with possible references to natural disaster, war and technological breakdown. Many interpret "Idioteque" as having something to do with climate change, an issue on which Yorke is outspoken and which he has admitted inspired subsequent songs, such as those on his 2006 solo album The Eraser. The song opens with the lines, "Who's in a bunker, who's in a bunker, women and children first." Yorke has not explained the reference, but has said other songs, such as 2003's "I Will" and "Sit Down. Stand Up." were about civilians killed in military conflict and genocide. Yorke has shied away from describing his music as directly political, and sometimes denies any intended specific meaning to his work beyond <b>...</b>
