The AMX-30 is a main battle tank designed by GIAT Industries and first delivered to the French Army in 1966. It was designed with a focus on firepower and mobility, able to operate with minimal support services. The trade-off was limited armour protection (50 mm base), rendering it vulnerable to contemporary main battle tank weapons of NATO or the Warsaw Pact. It is perhaps the most successful post-war French armoured vehicle designed. Design features included a fully sealed hull, allowing operations in nuclear, chemical, and biological contamination areas. The tank is also capable of fording water up to 2 m in depth. The armour is made of rolled plates and castings, completely welded. The turret is entirely cast and highly shaped for maximum protection. The tank can carry up to 47 rounds of ammunition.

AMC 1980 AMX Spirit restoration
This is my 1980 AMC Spirit AMX. I finished restoring this car in July of 2002. This car has new paint,interior,transmission,3:73 rear and a built up 360 AMC engine producing close to 400 hp. I sold this car to finish my 86 Corvette. I miss it very much. This car had the exhaust turned down towards the ground. It sounded real bassy like rolling thunder. This car was super fast. I took it to the 100th Rambler anniversary in Kenosha, WI in July 2002. With Group 19 AMC club. We also took it to Long Island, New York one summer, and I cruised my old neighborhood. Its sad to say that I sold it to a young man and the car is getting abused. I saw some chips and scratches on it. AMC made awesome engines.

Airplane is totally pre-painted and pre-decorated, final assembly takes about an hour. For quickest assembly use 5-minute epoxy. All electronics are pre-installed including brushless motor, 25A speed control, 4 servos and 6-channel receiver (in RTF version). Includes 3-cell 1300 mAh lipo battery and lipo balance charger. The good grip area under the wing makes the airplane easy to hand launch. Slows down well for belly landings. Without the additional drag of landing gear, the AMX is quick and smooth in flight. Capable of most aerobatic maneuvers that do not require the use of a rudder. Controls are: Ailerons (2 servos), Elevator (2 servos), Throttle.

I never thought I would ever say something like that, that I love mah French Tanks! Gun is outstanding, mobility is great and armor is crap. Pretty good tank and highly recommended.

The AMX International AMX is a ground-attack aircraft for battlefield interdiction, close air support and reconnaissance missions. It is built by AMX International, an Italian-Brazilian joint venture, and is designated the A-1 by the Brazilian Air Force. The AMX is capable of operating at high subsonic speed and low altitude, by day or night, and if necessary, from bases with poorly equipped or damaged runways. Low IR signature and reduced radar equivalent cross-section help prevent detection, while low vulnerability of structure and systems aid survivability. Integrated ECM, air-to-air missiles and nose-mounted guns provide self-defence capabilities. In 1977, the Italian Air Force issued a requirement for a strike fighter to replace its Aeritalia G.91 and some of its F-104 Starfighters. Rather than competing for the contract, Aeritalia (now Alenia Aeronautica) and Aermacchi agreed to make a joint proposal, as both firms had been considering the development of a similar class of aircraft for some years. Aermacchi, for example, had worked on a design study for a light ground attack aircraft, designated MB-340, in the early 1970s. Development work began in April 1978. In July 1981, the Italian and Brazilian governments agreed on joint requirements for the aircraft, and Embraer was invited to join the partnership. The first prototype flew on 15 May 1984. WoT Tips #8 - AMX 13 90 against high tiers
Been a while since I did a tips video, so I thought I'd better make one. I got requested to do a light french tank, since I had done all the other high tier light tanks(except for the VK2801, which is basicly a Chaffee with less mobility). Anyways these tactics can be applied to any of the light tanks from AMX12t to the BatChat. It's all about the ambushes in these tanks. If the enemy decides to just show themselves in open field, of course taking easy shots at them is more safe, but when you really have to think, then the ambush tactic is your way to success! AMC shocked the automotive world when it came out in 1968 with the AMX. At the time the only American build steel bodied two seat car. Often times the press attempted to make the Corvette and the AMX competitors due to the wheel base length. AMX stands for the concept name of American Motors eXperimental this car was given in the design/concept phase. The American SAE recognized AMC for Best Engineered Car of the Year in 1969for many industrial first such as injection molded dashes for safety and 390ci V8 was designed to use 290 and 343 components. Under the hood of this 1969 AMX is the numbers matching 343ci 4-bbl V8 Typhoon motor which produced 280hp and 365ft-lbs of torque at 3000 rpm. The 10.2:1 compression ratio required premium fuel even back in 1969. Matched be a Shift Command 3 speed automatic transmission this AMX is set to roll down the road. With 60583 original miles on this AMX it is an absolute beauty. Musclecar Review did a story about this specific AMX in 2004. This AMX is 1 of 729 with a 343 and automatic transmission, 1 of 595 produced with a red interior and 1 of 1742 with air conditioning. Painted black more than 25 years ago this AMX was originally grey with no stripe. This AMX was stripped down to the bare metal and brought back with and exterior restoration. The body is laser straight. The VIN breaks down as American Motors, 1969, auto floor console, AMX, 2dr hardtop, AMX, 343 4v, 315578. It was named in honour of General Philippe Leclerc de Hauteclocque who led the French element of the drive towards Paris while in command of the Free French 2nd Armoured Division (2ème DB) in World War II. The Leclerc is in service with the French Army and the army of the United Arab Emirates. In production since 1991, the Leclerc entered French service in 1992,replacing the venerable AMX 30 as the country's main armoured platform. With production now complete, the French Army has a total of 406 Leclercs and the United Arab Emirates Army has 388. The current price in 2011 is €9.3 million.

Leclerc Main Battle Tank - AMX-56
The Leclerc is the Main Battle Tank of France. Leclerc first entered service with the French Armed Forces in 1992, and replaced the AMX-30 as the main armored presence. The French gave special attention to protection against KE-penitrators by layering welded steel, titanium, and a non-energetic reactive armor called NERA. NERA is a revolutionary type of external armor based upon the fact that anti-tank warfare changes so rapidly that tank armor can become obsolete in less than 10 years at times. NERA sandwiches a layer of inert lining between two steel plates. When struck by a charge, much of the energy is dissipated into the liner. The resulting pressure causes bending and flexing of the armor in the impact area which shifts the impact over the plates effectivly increasing the thickness of the tanks armor. NERA can and is being continuously tested and expanded upon. It is also easily interchangeable which means that as soon as anti-tank warfare changes, NERA and the Leclerc itself can adapt to meet the threats head on. In the 1980's France rejected Chobham armor for being "overly optimised for hollow-charge protection". Because of this, France opted for a perforated armor system which currently protects the tank. The Leclerc has a FINDERS battle management system and an ICONE TIS digital communication system which integrates data from other tanks and upper levels of command.
