Causes of Social Anxiety Disorder

moderncavedweller.com Some people are able to mask their discomfort and go about their lives mildly uncomfortable in social situations, while others remain perpetually in a living hell. Those whose condition affects them to the degree that their lives are severely diminished are in need of treatment. Whats the cause of this phobic reaction to personal interaction? The causes may be either or both biological or learned. Its possible that the initial cause of social anxiety disorder is an underlying chemical imbalance affecting the neurotransmitter, serotonin. Some theorize that this imbalance restricts the way messages travel between nerve cells. This imbalance can alter the way people react during stressful situations. Research is still in its infancy. Conditioning as a result of childhood humiliation, psychological abuse, sheltering, nervous parents, lack of praise, an overabundance of criticism, trauma can have psychological ramifications resulting in social anxiety disorder. But the cause is not as important as the cure. To date, there is no complete cure, however there is treatment which can alleviate most of the symptoms and enable a person with this disorder to function happily and productively. If you know of someone that you believe suffers from this crippling disorder, understand and accept them, love them and get them into treatment. The successful completion of the treatment program can be like a rebirth for those who suffer from social anxiety disorder.

Cure for Social anxiety disorder

dealingwithpanicattacks.info Overcoming social anxiety There is a Cure for Social anxiety disorder In a vast majority of cases and with the help of treatment ,from a professional, it is possible that a person ceases to suffer repeated panic attacks. But it is important to see a doctor who can confirm the diagnosis and recommend appropriate therapy for each case. Current treatments usually consist of psychological therapies that help us understand that there are many people who suffer the same thing, this is a very common condition, you are not going crazy and, you're not going to die from this. It aims to achieve a cognitive restructuring, ie, to change the thinking of the patient. Once the patient begins to feel more positive, optimistic and realistic about their problem, the therapist will help you identify the "trigger" that often causes your panic attacks. This may be a thought, a certain situation, a certain activity or something as subtle as a slight change in heartbeat. Once the patient identifies what, if anything, acts as a trigger, you can learn to control the symptoms that come later. The last phase of social anxiety treatment often focuses on helping the patient to perform those activities that they usually avoid because of the fear of causing a panic attack. This is to make you see firsthand, that they are not afraid to these activities themselves (driving into crowded places, drinking coffee, getting on an airplane, public speaking .....).They are actually ...

Social Anxiety/ Avoidant Personality Disorder

Here is another social anxiety video. I'd like to raise some awareness of what it's like, but also note that I only speak on behalf of myself and no one else in this video. People's symptoms and severity vary and it's not up to armchair psychologists to decide these things. I want to raise awareness because besically in my daily life I feel like I cannot talk about it and I especially cannot use it to even try to explain my behaviour for fear of not being taken seriously. When it comes to youtubers, I am happy to discuss the validity of my diagnosis and whether or not it is considered an acceptable disability or I am just making excuses for being a social retard. I am happy to be open with people I don't know. But I care if my supervisors at work were to tell me that, or workmates, friends or even just people that might say hi to me as I pass by or the people I raid with on WoW. In fact, I feel like I must not tell them at all. They must not see any anxiety from me. Or any negative emotion. Or Else. I also want to break down the idea that we're all the same and should behave a cirtain way. It all boils down to feelings and thoughts which you can't know for sure. For example, somebody with social anxiety is not always shy. They do have friends. They do go out and are not always anxious about everything. Very strange, but for me, I am probably less afraid of public speaking then the average person. But asking someone for something.... it cannot be done. I often don't even ...

Child Separation Anxiety Disorder

Anxiety BC - anxietybc.com It is normal for children to sometimes feel anxious or insecure when separated from their parents or other important caregivers. Usually, such separation anxiety fades as they grow up and become more confident. If your child's separation anxiety continues to persist after the age of five and starts affecting his or her life (eg refuses to be out of sight of parent), then your child may have Separation Anxiety Disorder, which involves excessive anxiety when a child is, or is expecting, to be separated from home or a loved one (such as a parent or a caregiver).
