Bilbao Chess Masters 2011 FINAL ROUND - Levon Aronian Vs Viswanathan Anand Bilbao Round 9

♕ ARTICLE: www.onlinechesslessons.net ♕ facebook.com ♕ twitter.com Levon Aronian vs Viswanathan Anand: 2011 Bilbao Chess Masters Final, Round 9 - Aronian started slow at the 2011 Bilbao Chess Masters Final, however he began to score some nice wins in the second half of the tournament in Spain to attempt to catch up to Ivancuk, Carlsen and Nakamura. While Aronian finished tied for 3-5th, he still put a nice victory in this game. He opened with the Queen's Gambit as white, and Anand quickly accepted a sacrificed pawn with 6. ...Nxe4!? - however Aronian quickly achieved more than sufficient counterplay by rapidly seizing the initiative and placing instant pressure on black's king with 10. Bxf6 11. d5! and 12. Rfe1+ Anand was really out of form at the 2011 Bilbao Chess Masters Final, easily evident with his indecisiveness and passivity in moves like 15. ...Qe8 16. ...Qe7 and especially in 17. ...Rab8. Aronian went on to finish the game accurately, forcing Anand's resignation with a spectacular yet easily visible tactic in 25. Rxe6! Grandmaster Anish Giri vs GM Levon Aronian - Amber Chess Tournament 2011 - Round 1

♕ facebook.com ♕ twitter.com Website: www.OnlineChessLessons.net Presenting Amber 2011 Round 1 (Rapid Game = 25 min + 10 sec increment) between Anish Giri (Netherlands) and Levon Aronian (Armenia). Aronian went on to crush the competition in this event and win by a large margin. Giri, on the other hand, had a poor performance in the tournament although is very new to playing with the super-elite and is sure to improve his results in future events. Aronian chose to answer Giri's opening d4 with the Dutch, quickly sacrificed a piece for the initiative, and concluded an excellent attack. Aronion was not scared to sacrifice intuitively and won a deserved game in stylish fashion. Congratulations to Levon Aronian for taking down the win at Amber 2011!
