The Frost Art Museum's virtual museum project is entitled: Virtual Frost and we are extremely excited to report it has been designed and developed by a Florida International Univerisity (FIU)-School of Architecture professor and implemented by 3 FlU School of Architecture graduate students. Being part of one of the nation's 25 largest academic research institutions, the creation of Virtual Frost adds a fascinating element to the educational component of the university-for both the students and professors of all disciplines.

It's one of the finest collections of modern art anywhere in the world, but you won't find it in New York or Paris. Dozens of works by the likes of Pablo Picasso, Andy Warhol and Jackson Pollock — together valued at roughly $3 billion — are locked in a basement in Tehran. Only a handful of westerners have had an up-close look at the underground archives in Tehran's Museum of Contemporary Art. ABC News was granted exclusive access inside the vault that holds a priceless collection Iranian authorities choose to keep locked away. What was revealed was astonishing: a series of paintings by Picasso; a wall's worth of pop art by Roy Lichtenstein; Warhol portraits of Jackie Onassis, Mick Jagger and Marilyn Monroe; a Diego Rivera self portrait; and a painting many consider to be the best Jackson Pollock outside of North America. The collection was supposed to be a gift to the Iranian people. It was assembled by the Shah of Iran and his wife using public funds during the oil boom of the 1970s. Tehran's Museum of Contemporary Art was inaugurated in 1977, designed to be one of the world's landmark modern art institutions, with an international collection worthy of that ambition. But just months later came the Islamic Revolution. The Shah was deposed, Ayatollah Khomeinei was became the country's leader, and in the Revolutionary, anti-American climate the museum's western art was banished to the basement. Richard Fennell - Art Gallery
Richard Fennell received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from East Carolina University and a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Fennell's work can be found in the permanent collection of the North Carolina Museum of Art as well as numerous private and corporate collections nationwide. His intense landscapes of his surroundings in the piedmont region of North Carolina reflect a careful placement of color, which he uses to translate the essential structure of nature. In this current series of paintings, Fennell conveys a true sense and emotion of place in the intense North Carolina landscapes. "Richard Fennell, who has received art degrees from both UNC-G and ECU, has long been known for his paintings of North Carolina landscapes. Using a rich palette of colors suggested by his surroundings and a highly developed brush technique, the artist depicts not only the landscape but also the elements which make it what it is. Through Fennell's philosophy of painting, his canvases capture the changing of the seasons and the evolutions of nature as seasonal cycles progress. Fennell's strengths are his understanding of a particular place, its seasons, and the time of day. All of the artist's work is derived from nature and is a direct result of his observances of nature. Corey Barksdale Atlanta Georgia Art Gallery Online Fine Art Paintings
If you live in Atlanta, you might have already come across Corey Barksdale's paintings in art festivals, galleries, and more recently on some of the walls of the city. This bright African American artist brings life to his designs with great textured colorful elements and creativity. His work reflects his many sources of inspiration, with a focus on music and dance - Jazz music in particular -, urban city life and the love and strength present within the African-American community. Corey has carried out numerous projects for businesses and individuals throughout Atlanta, and he has participated in art shows all over the United States. Over the last few years Corey has developed his skills as a mural artist. One of the major projects he recently completed was a 30 feet mural painting for the Beltline, Atlanta's ambitious urban redevelopment project. Rob Brawner, the Atlanta Beltline program director was thrilled with the result, stating that: "Corey was able to bring the Atlanta BeltLine alive through his colorful interpretation of the project." Another much acclaimed mural project he completed this summer was a vast wall painting for the Ben Hill Recreation Center in south Atlanta, as part of the Paint Big project, an initiative by Wonderroot, Living Walls, Dorian McDuffie and the City of Atlanta Office of Recreation. Artificial - A Short Trip Through Bomuldsfabriken Kunsthall
Here is a short video I made for Bomuldsfabriken Kunsthall in Arendal, Norway. It is a tour through parts of the permanent, contemporary collection at the art gallery. The idea was to make a visual representation of how art communicates with the viewers emotions, and it was very inspiring to animate other artists work. Objects and artists: "Triplane" schetches for a Mechanical Sunrise, Espen Dietrichson, 2008. "Kjartan as Marilyn", Kjartan Slettemark 2003. "Painter in living Daylight", Ole Jørgen Ness, 2005. "Vellexon 1.2.", Kira Wager, 2008. "In the flexible, closed Room of the Illusion", Bjørn Carlsen, 1991. Without title, Jan Freuchen. "Cut Flowers", Inger Johanne Rasmussen, 2006. The music was sampled from a piece by Ingebrigt Håker Flaten & Håkon Kornstad and remixed by me. The video was filmed by hand with a digital SLR camera and animated with Photoshop and After Effects.

Founded in 1973, the Reykjavík Art Museum is the largest visual art institution in Iceland. Its mission to present contemporary art in its many manifestations is carried out through diverse programs at the museum's three venues: Hafnarhus, Kjarvalsstadir, and Asmundarsafn. Architecture has been a part of the museum programs since 1993. The Reykjavik Art Museum has three collections of works by individual artists: Asmundur Sveinsson, Johannes S. Kjarval and Erró. The Museum is also in charge of the General art collection of the city of Reykjavik as well as most of the outdoor sculptures.

U-Ram Choe at Mori Art Museum (MAM), Tokyo, Japan
MAM Project 004 Mach 10 - May 7, 2006 Korean artist Choe U-Ram's unique works explore the boundary between fine art and science, and in particular, cybernetics. With the current state of technological advancement, where robots in every day life are becoming a reality, and where the cloning of organisms is essentially possible, Choe's work is of particular interest. Choe favors flowers and insects as motifs for his sculptural works. And by incorporating simple elements of 'motion' into the sculptures, such as machine parts, sensors and/or lightbulbs, he successfully conveys the impression that he is actually creating new organisms. As a part of his production process, he also creates a detailed description of his new species, including its preferred habitat, distribution, growth mechanisms, activity patterns, and eating patterns. In this way his work seems to go beyond the confines of figurative art, and into the wider, more ambitious field of the creation of virtual organisms. This exhibition features a new organism and a description of it made by the artist. The exhibits form a realistic yet artificial space, similar to those in natural history museums. Choe's compelling works represent the aesthetics of some future era - where high technology machines are considered supreme - and in which, without doubt, mysterious, one-of-a-kind experiences can be provided.
