Artificial Sweeteners

Warning: Long, science-heavy video. No funny cats or guys getting hit in the nuts. Artificial sweeteners, or as they are usually referred to in the literature "non-caloric" sweeteners or "high-intensity" sweeteners, address the problem of sugar calorie excess in our diet. They've been demonstrated to support weight loss or maintenance, reduce cavities and can be part of a healthy lifestyle. Much focus has been on CSPI report: www.cspinet.org I disagree with CSPI on about 25% of their rankings, but I appreciate that they take a very conservative stance. Citations: Aspartame: 1. Artificial Sweeteners Make You Fat?

Do artificial sweeteners make you fat? Artificial sweeteners like aspartame, sucralose or saccharin are low to zero cal sugar replacements or "substitutes". Are Sugar Alcohols Like Xylitol Safe Artificial Sweeteners?

www.naturalhealthsherpa.com -- When you talk about addictions, many people think about drugs. Makes sense, right? Or maybe even alcohol. And, if they are really enlightened and understand nutrition, they know to add sugar into the mix of addictive substances. So why do so many people believe that the combination of two known addictive substances like sugar and alcohol is somehow a safe, natural, and effective alternative to table sugar and dangerous sugar replacements like aspartame, saccharin, and Splenda? Why do many nutrition and health advocates go so far as to not only tout the benefits of sugar alcohols like xylitol as an effective, diabetes-friendly alternative, but also as a health food with additional benefits in its own right? Can this be true? Is it possible that two wrongs can make a right?

Artificial Sweeteners, Sugar And Acne

Go To: www.facebook.com Click Like, Then enter your information to have the ebook sent to you. Artificial sweeteners such as nutrisweet, sweet n low, splenda and others that contain aspartame can only make your skin and acne worse. These cause the body to become more toxic and acidic which causes your skin to break out even more. I actually recommend that you have regular sugar over sugar free artificially sweetened foods and drinks. The best way to sweeten your food and drinks is an herb plant from south america called stevia. It actually sweetens, does not effect insulin and glucose levels in the body like sugar and is actually good for your teeth too! this is a miracle herb and the best sweetener you can get for your health and clear skin and I highly recommend it. Here is some organic stevia packets: www.amazon.com Please like, comment, favorite and share this video! Thanks :) David "The Skin" King

Find out why artificial sweeteners are called 'excitotoxins' - they're called that because they are poisonous toxins. They overstimulate nerve cells so that they repeatedly fire and many of them die from that overstimulation. Artificial sweeteners have been linked to many disorders including obesity, cancer, heart disease, Alzheimer's and much more. Is aspartame a healthy alternative?

drryanbentley.com Truth or Myth? The Artificial Sweetener Aspartame Actually Helps You Get Healthy In order to verify if this is a truth or a myth we must first look at the composition of this artificial sweetener. Aspartame is 200 times sweeter than natural sugar and is made up of 40% aspartic acid, 50% phenylalanine and 10% methanol. Aspartate, the salt form of aspartic acid, is a neurotransmitter in the brain that facilitates information from one brain cell to another. Too much aspartate allows an influx of calcium into the brain cells; therefore triggering an excessive amount of free radicals, also know as oxidation, which kills the nerve cells. Aspartate is referred to as an "excitotoxin" because of the nerve cell damage that it causes. Many chronic illnesses have been attributed to long-term excitotoxin exposure, including multiple sclerosis, ALS, memory loss, hormonal problems, hearing loss, epilepsy, Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, hypoglycemia, dementia, brain lesions and neuroendocrine disorders. Phenylalanine is an amino acid normally found in the brain. Excessive levels of phenylalanine in the brain can cause a decrease in the levels of serotonin, which is the happy good chemical of our body, which can lead to depression, sleep disturbances, schizophrenia and increase risk of seizures. Research has confirmed that those who chronically use aspartame have elevated phenylalanine levels in the blood. However, By far, the most controversial ingredient in ...

Dr Whiting on The Truth About Artificial Sweeteners

phoenixnutritionals.com (CLICK HERE) For over twenty years, I have been saying that artificial sweeteners, in excess, can lead to both weight gain and prevention of weight loss. Sweeteners such as aspartame, splenda, sweet & low and others are many times sweeter than natural sugars. Even though they contain no carbohydrates and so calories, aspartame, splenda, and sweet & low can stimulate both the appetite and the craving centers of the brain. When the tongue senses sweet, it sends a message to the brain. In turn the brain sends a message to the pancreas to prepare for a rise in blood sugar, by producing an increased amount of the hormone insulin. It is by this mechanism that artificial sweeteners can increase insulin and thereby the cravings for starch and sugary foods. This is not what a dieter needs! Artificial sweeteners such as aspartame, splenda, or sweet & low, may be used by dieters to satisfy their sweet tooth, but should do so in moderation. Also if these artificial sweeteners are used with food, at a meal, preferably with some protein, the effect of the sweetness on the appetite is reduced. Diet drinks are one of the more offensive because they are in liquid form. These diet drinks are often consumed between meals on an empty stomach. Doing so, causes the sweetness of the diet drink to increase appetite and the cravings for both starch and sugary foods.

Diet Foods;Artificial Sweeteners May Trick the Brain

Artificial Sweeteners May Damage Diet and CAUSE Weight Gain! ew study shows that they may also play tricks on the body and sabotage weight-loss efforts. www.mgb.fm Call Dr. Rutledge 702-714-0011 or Email: DrR@clos.net Diet Drinks, Artificial Sweeteners & Obesity. Diet Sweeteners Can Make You Sick and Fat. Today 59 percent of Americans consume diet soft drinks. Artificial sweeteners like aspartame and sucralose may actually promote obesity and weight gain, says research. research published in the International Journal of Obesity reveals that artificial sweeteners like aspartame and sucralose -- precisely the kinds of chemical sweeteners found in diet soft drinks or many low-carb food products -- may actually promote obesity by tricking the body into thinking that sweet-tasting foods and drinks don't contain as many calories as they really do. In the experiments, rats who were fed artificially-sweetened foods tended to overeat foods containing real sweeteners, causing them to gain weight. In humans, it's the same result: drink diet soft drinks and consume enough foods made with artificial sweeteners, and you'll very likely overeat the sweets when the real thing comes along: apple pie, cookies, cake, ice cream, and so on. www.mgb.fm Call Dr. Rutledge 702-714-0011 or Email: DrR@clos.net

60% less Sugar Pepsi Next Cola Possible has Health Concern due to Dangers of Aspartame

Pepsi Next claims to have 60 percent less sugar, ie High-fructose corn syrup in the USA (HFCS) without sacrificing taste. The secret to keeping its sweet taste comes from the use of THREE artificial sweeteners: aspartame, acesulfame potassium, and sucralose. Aspartame (Nutrasweet and Equal) is believed to be carcinogenic and accounts for more reports of adverse reactions than all other foods and food additives combined. Acesulfame potassium (Acesulfame-K) has been linked to kidney problems, and sucralose (Splenda) has been found to reduce the amount of beneficial microflora in your gut by 50 percent—in addition to being associated with many of the same adverse reactions as aspartame. Contrary to popular belief, research has shown that artificial sweeteners can stimulate your appetite; increase carbohydrate cravings; stimulate fat storage and weight gain. Diet sodas may actually double your risk of obesity. NOTE: In the USA HFCS is used in place of real sugar, HFCS is just as much a health risk as the other low cal artificial sweeteners. If you want a healthy cola drink, shop for one of the organic soda's sweetened with stevia, or better yet drink a high quality filtered water product and add your own organic lime or lemon. ARTIFICIAL SWEETENERS IN SUPPLEMENTS: TAKE A STAND.

Sorry if this didn't come out as coherent as I would have liked. To summarize, my message is this: Simply try your best to be conscious of the artificial sweeteners/colors contained in many of our supplements. The more we choose more natural products, the increased pressure it puts on big supplement companies to start changing their formulas. These supplement companies should be leaders. Right now they are lagging far behind our consumer desires to build top quality natural products. I won't get into a debate on whether artificial sweeteners/colors cause cancer, strokes or other health risks. That is not my area. But I still would still like to see them GONE. It is a shame that they are not already. It is definitely time for a change.
