ArtRage 3 Pro Software Walk Through

www.netbooknews.com If you've ever felt that creating art online means learning a complicated program like photoshop you haven't played with Art Rage. Its now in its 3rd incarnation and has recently released Art Rage 3 Studio Pro, which replicates real-world painting and drawing techniques including crayons, chalk, felt pen, oil and watercolours, and more. It provides oil paints that smear and blend on the canvas, watercolor strokes that merge to create soft, wet gradations, and each different tool interacts on the screen as it would in traditional art studios. Its so easy that children can figure it out and make shocking creating projects. The program's interface is easy to use and the tools are smartly laid out within a quarter-circle on each side of the painting area. The one of the left contains the selection and eraser tools and all the different painting instruments, each of which can be resized using the percentage bar in the bottom left-hand corner. The quarter-circle on the right, meanwhile, holds the colour palette. The desktop versions ArtRage 3 Studio and Studio Pro contain all features of the iPad version, along with additional tools such as stencils, rulers, stickers, sticker spray, glitter tools, custom color palettes and more. ArtRage is available on Windows and Macintosh, and it supports Wacom tablets and Interactive White Boards. A picture is worth a thousand words and here is the video so you can see it for your self in action.

Speed Painting The Little Mermaid (painted with ArtRage)

It's an original artwork inspired by The Little Mermaid, I love the ending of the original fairy tale where her body dissolves into foam (more magical than in the disney movie). I had an amazing picture in my head, but I haven't that much experience with doing original paintings yet, so I decided to make the easy version and one day when I'm better, I'll do the painting I actual have in my head with real oil paint. But I hope you like this version too (I personally love the background, it's made with a Bob Ross technique) Time: 2h 20 Music: freeplaymusic.com twitter.com www.facebook.com dailybooth.com co-boldt.deviantart.com www.studivz.net www.schuelervz.net

Artrage Tutorial Paint Tube Overview

LIMITED TIME ONLY! Jasmine V App $1.99 mhlo.co The Uses of the Paint Tube in ArtRage The paint tube tool is exactly what it sounds like. Imagine taking a real tube of paint and squeezing a heap of it onto a canvas. This is what paint tube tool does, and this tool comes in handy when you're trying to make a creative and colorful background. Re-Creating an Art Canvas In using the paint tube tool, you can use a palette knife to mix the splotches together, recreating a real canvas. It acts like a real paint tube and it can be hard to tell that your creation was done digitally. Making New Colors You can also use the paint tube tool to create a completely new color. By squeezing paint onto your digital canvas, you can mix the different colors until you have a unique shade. Then with the eye dropper tool or the paint brush, you can apply the new color like you would with any paint brush. Simplicity of the Presets This particular tool is very simple, and does not have a lot of settings or presets. The only thing you can change is the pressure, which alters the size the tool. This is great for artists who are attempting to create abstract pieces. Read more by visiting our page at: www.mahalo.com

Artrage Tutorial Ink Pen Overview

LIMITED TIME ONLY! Jasmine V App $1.99 mhlo.co Uses of the Ink Pen Tool The ink pen is very similar to a permanent marker in the way you can use it mark drawings in ArtRage. It's very customizable and is often used to ink creations like the one pictured. ArtRage makes it very simple to play with the different settings and presets. The ink pen allows many different options and is like having a drawer full of art pens in one program. Using the Presets There are four main presets in the ink pen tool of ArtRage. * Smoothing: This tool is often used to write cursive or stylized script. * Technical: This makes a thinner, lumpier line that doesn't smooth out as much. * Thick and thin: This changes width depending on whether you go left or right or up and down. * Chisel: This is similar to the first tool and is used to smooth off writing. Using the Settings There are several main settings that can also be used in addition to the presets. The pressure and aspect tools can be used to change the flow of the pen from lighter to darker. The taper tool gives a tapered start and finish to the lines you draw and can prove useful when it comes to drawing things like scars. Smoothing and opacity change how well the line is defined, while rotation is something that is mainly used with the changing of the other options. Read more by visiting our page at: www.mahalo.com

Artrage Tutorial Water color Brush Overview

Master Guitar Solos app! mhlo.co The Uses of the Watercolor Brush The watercolor brush is a new feature in the recent Studio Pro edition of ArtRage and mimics the art of using a watercolor on a canvas. It can be a very useful way for traditional artists to jump into digital art work and create a new style. Changing the Presets The watercolor brush has different presets that allow you customize the appearance of the strokes. Small strokes on wet: This creates an effect similar to when you wet the paper before hand and then dip the brush. It makes it look like the edges are bleeding slightly. * Dry strokes: This is similar to when you have a watercolor brush without much water on it. * Delicate on dry: This creates very soft strokes on a dry canvas. * Thin strokes on wet: This creates thinner lines that appear to be on a wet canvas. Changing the Settings The watercolor tool also has several settings that allow you to change the appearance of your piece even further. Pressure: This changes the size of the brush. * Thinners: This dilutes the color of the brush. * Loading: This controls how much paint is on the brush. * Color bleed: This is an interesting tool that mimics the effects of having a lot of water on the brush. The edges bleed similar to how it would in real life. * Paper wet: This makes it look like you're painting on wet paper. * Insta-dry: This makes the strokes dry instantly and lowers its interactivity with other elements in the drawing. Artrage Tutorial Airbrush Overview

LIMITED TIME ONLY! Jasmine V App $1.99 mhlo.co The Uses of the Airbrush Tool The airbrush tool is part of the ArtRage program that mimics a real airbrush spraying on the canvas. It is an essential part of any painting set and is good for artists who are tired of working with oil or water colors. Changing the Presets There are several presets in the airbrush tool that allow you customize what is going on your canvas. Big and subtle: This creates very wide strokes with a light shade. * Slow flow: This creates a light and barely there brush stroke like a real airbrush set on low. * Slow flow tinter: This also creates a light touch but gets dark if you hold the brush in one area for a period of time. * Tendrils: This makes the brush stroke start out wide and get thinner, similar to the effect of you turning the airbrush on and then slowly off. Changing the Settings There are also several settings that allow you to further customize your airbrush. Pressure: This changes the size of the brush. If you are working with a tablet, you can just press harder on the screen to change the pressure. * Tilt angle: This makes it spray from an angle. * Taper length: This makes the ends of the strokes more or less square depending how much you change the percentage. * Opacity: This changes how transparent the airbrush strokes are. This setting can be useful if you need to fill in colors between a painting. * Blend mode: This is useful for mixing colors and is similar to using a palette knife ...

Hey, I'm one of the Beta testers for the ArtRage Team over at Ambient Design (www.ambientdesign.com) and they just began to allow us to release information on their upcoming release of ArtRage Studio Pro (ArtRage 3). I made this video to show some of the members at the AR forums what they can expect to do with the Sticker Spray Tool, which is one of the new tools they added to the ArtRage program. It allows Pro users to create everything from bump mapped sticker sheets and stamps to bitmap brush heads and with a little trickery, impasto-like brushes. Music provided by the ArtRage team so I don't get sued. Thanks guys!

Artrage Tutorial Paper and Pencil Settings

LIMITED TIME ONLY! Jasmine V App $1.99 mhlo.co Canvas Settings When you start a new project, you'll get to choose the paper settings. You can choose the the texture, or grain, of the canvas. Preset options include basic and rough canvas and basic, rough and cockled (wavy and wrinkled) paper. You can also create a new preset. You can also choose the Width, Height and Resolution of the canvas. Pencil Tool and Settings After you select the Pencil tool, the Pencil Settings menu appears on the left-hand side of the window. It contains thePressure and Tilt Angle settings. The Pressure percentage setting controls the amount of pressure the program is using to draw on the canvas. This setting is for mouse or iPad users. Tablet users can recreate pressure sensitivity using the actual pressure of the pen against the screen. The Tilt Angle percentage setting controls the angle at which the program tilts the pencil while drawing on the canvas. You can track the appearance of this tilt in the lower left-hand corner toolbox. The higher the percentage of tilt, the thicker the line. The program does an excellent job of replicating the appearance of pencil on canvas. Note the small breaks in the lines. Read more by visiting our page at: www.mahalo.com

Artrage Tutorial Chalk Overview

LIMITED TIME ONLY! Jasmine V App $1.99 mhlo.co Using the Chalk Tool The chalk tool can be used to create highlights. Select white from the color picker, then click anywhere on the canvas to add a chalk highlight to that area. The chalk tool's marks also blend with any strokes that have already been laid down. For example, when you mark with white chalk over black chalk marks, it blends slightly and becomes grayish. Settings There are not many settings for the chalk tool. There are no presets, but you can change the pressure being applied to the canvas and the size of your chalk. To change the pressure, click Settings. Click on the bar and drag left or right to change the percent of pressure. If you're working on a tablet, set this to 50 percent. This way, you can change the pressure by simply exerting more or less pressure on the tablet screen with your pen. To change the size of the chalk, click the percent inside the toolbox, then drag in a circular motion backward or forward to increase or decrease the percent. Artrage Tutorial Paint Roller Brush Overview

LIMITED TIME ONLY! Jasmine V App $1.99 mhlo.co Using the Paint Roller Brush There are different ways of using the paint roller tool. It works like a real paint brush and is great for creating abstract pieces. It's used for laying paint on the canvas and changing the settings to find a texture and depth for your work. The paint roller is used to add chaos and color to artwork and is a great way experiment with different tools without spending money on actual paint brushes. Changing the Presets The presets can be used to manipulate the brushes and customize your own paintings. * Dry roller: This preset doesn't use much paint and has a very light touch. * Speckled line: This line changes the pressure and has heavier paint markings. * Thick and smooth: This one is self-explanatory and has the heaviest paint. Changing the Settings The settings can also be changed with the presets to achieve different effects. * Pressure: This changes the size of the brushstrokes. * Loading: This makes the paint roller light or thick depending on the percentage you pick. * Thinner: This makes the swipe of the roller more diluted. Also by using the clean roller option, you can easily blend the paint with other colors already on the canvas. The line in the center of the brush is an indication of what direction the toll is rolling in. Read more by visiting our page at: www.mahalo.com
