Hi folks, this is my first student 'Solo YouTube Video' of me playing the bandoneon. I've been learning for about 2 years and a few months now. For several months, I've been working with a great teacher, Aude, via online Skype lessons. It has really changed/helped my playing/learning. Aude is affiliated with Ben Bogart and his online tango school. You can get more details here: www.TangoJam.com The student solo is taken from Exercise 2, page 33, of Don Benito's Method Book 1 (by Luciano Jungman). It is a "Bach inspired Invention" created by L. Jungman for basic bandoneon study. The focus here is on smooth play (in-time with nice open and close transitions). Still needs a lot of work but thought I'd get out one sample for future comparison... In the meantime, feel free to comment on my playing. I hope this is a good learning tool and also a record of my development. I'm on the 20 year plan of mastery and have about 18 more to go. No rush, but I'm learning a lot every week and enjoying the process. Astor Piazzolla, compositor de tango mais importante da segunda metade do século XX, estudou harmonia e música erudita com a compositora e diretora de orquestra francesa Nadia Boulanger. Em sua juventude, tocou e realizou arranjos orquestrais para o bandoneonista, compositor e diretor Aníbal Troilo. Quando começou a fazer inovações no tango, no ritmo, no timbre e na harmonia, foi muito criticado pelos tocadores de tango mais antigos. Ao voltar de Nova Iorque, Piazzolla já mostrava a forte influência do Jazz em sua música, estabelecendo então uma nova linguagem, seguida até hoje. Quando os mais ortodoxos, durante a década de 60, bradaram que a música dele não era de fato tango, Piazzolla respondia-lhes que era música contemporânea de Buenos Aires. Para seus seguidores e apreciadores, essa música certamente representava melhor a imagem da metrópole argentina. Piazzola deixou uma discografia invejável, tendo gravado com Gary Burton, Tom Jobim, entre outros músicos que o acompanharam, como o também notável violinista Fernando Suarez Paz. 10 years Muziekpublique: Helena Rüegg (bandoneon), 'Oifn weig'-'Florcita' - 'Hora'
Helena Ruëgg studied, amongst others, with masters of the bandoneón such as Rodolfo Mederos, Juan José Mosalini or Alfredo Marcucci from Argentina. She decided to carve her own musical path through a variety of influences, including tango, Yiddish music and jazz. Here she performs one of her own compositions, which features music from different regions but takes the life of Jewish, Argentinian poet, Alejandra Pizarnik, as a red thread. The work of this impressive woman of letters, who lived for a long time in Paris, has often been linked to music. Helena starts here with a song from her childhood, 'Oifn weig', a Yiddish composition from Eastern Europe by I.Manger. This is followed by a Parisian waltz and then 'Florcita', composed by Helena herself, where she presents the Argentinian origins of the female poet and her suicide in 1966. A traditional Yiddish dance, the 'Hora', ends the medley. --- Gevormd door Argentijnse bandeonisten als Alfredo Marcucci, Juan José Mosalini en Rodolfo Mederos besloot Helena Rüegg haar eigen weg te gaan waarin invloeden van tango, Jiddische muziek en jazz elkaar kruisen.
