Korn mourns the death of Paul Gray, bassist for the band Slipknot. On May 24th, 2010 Slipknot bass player Paul Gray was found dead in a Des Moines, IA hotel room. Gray had been a member of Slipknot from the beginning and was a key part of their transformation into a metal icon. To date Slipknot has released 5 best selling albums and sold over 14 million records worldwide. The band is currently on a one year hiatus. As a child Gray grew up in Des Moines, IA and was considered by friends to be a caring human being who didn't forget his roots. He still resided in his hometown and leaves behind a wife and unborn child. Check also: www.youtube.com Video courtesy of the blog www.jnpdi.blogspot.com The story behind this concert and the one in Estoril is funny because Portugal was coming out of a revolution (April 1974) that had ended nearly 50 years of dictatorship. While traveling from Lisbon to Estoril Bill Evans would look at the walls and buildings and try to read what was painted there: REVOLU-Ç-Ã-O (revolution), he spelled quietly. On one of this trips the van which transported the Fender Rhodes (electric piano) seen in this video was halted at a popular road block and examined under the suspicion of carrying a heavy machine gun... once it was large and covered... Bill Evans loved the country anyhow. This and many other stories and facts about jazz in Portugal can be read in my newest book: www.principia.pt

This is a solo from the late great Mr Entwistle, imo the best bassist of all time. The solo is taken from a live performance of 5:15 (Monday Nov. 4 1996 - The Nutter Center, Wright State University, Dayton, Ohio). I've seen clips around YouTube of his 5:15 solos, but not this one (correct me if I'm wrong). This one has a little better quality and is cleaner. Enjoy! :-)
