Beat Down: Fists of Vengeance is Capcom's new take on the fighting genre, featuring hard-hitting action in a visceral urban setting. Beat Down: Fists of Vengeance puts gamers in the role of one of five fugitives as they seek revenge against members of their own drug cartel that tried to set them up and have them killed. Betrayal comes at a high price and to survive in Las Sombras, you need power. With enemies everywhere, the only hope is to find the other four and build enough power to strike back. Using a low-key downtown bar as a hideout base, players wander the town in search of information and add allies to their growing opposition. Taking different jobs around town adds much needed funds to fuel the growth of the posse. Beat Down: Fists of Vengeance Game Sample - Xbox
So while I was going over some really old emails I received asking about certain games, I came across some pleas to play a few Xbox and Sega Saturn titles and figured I needed to dust the Xbox off at least since I haven't done it in a while (barring Blinx, which was to test a new Xbox I bought). I was asked to play such titles as Dead or Alive Ultimate, SVC Chaos and Kakuto Chojin (showing specific things in the game), but then I saw this game I bought recently for Xbox sitting around: Beat Down. I started working on playing Kakuto Chojin but soon got bored as hell and decided to take a break from it, so I popped this in. I should probably start by saying the game has a lot of foul language and blood, so if you're not into that, you shouldn't be watching these videos (the game is rated "M" for mature). Now that this is out of the way, I'd have to say that this game LOOKS pretty neat... but don't be fooled; it's rather terrible. In a way, you can look at it as re-inventing the old-school 2D beat-em-up genre in 3D, but that would be sorta disrespectful to the many successful brawlers of yore. It's hard to play this without throwing around a generous helping of expletives. This game has so many good ideas but it's just plagued by simply awful design, play controls and mechanics, has loading for almost everything, and is quite a chore to play. It might not be "as bad" as it's made out to be, but I think it's pretty bad and "pretty bad" is enough for me. In the game, you <b>...</b>

Raw Video: Police Beat Down Citizen Walking His Dog
Hart says Mark Ashford was walking his dogs near 20th and Little Raven in LoDo, when he saw police pull over a driver for failing to stop at a stop sign. Ashford told the driver he saw him stop and would be willing to testify in court. Hart says the officer overheard him and "wasn't very happy." That's when Ashford says the Denver police officers demanded his ID and detained him. Ashford tried to take a picture of the officers to document the incident, and a few second later he was on the ground. Police charged Ashford with interference and resisting arrest. Hart says, the charges were later dropped because the officers violated Ashford's 4th amendment rights, "they had no reason to stop him, take his ID or detain him." An Excessive Force complaint was filed against both officers involved. A Denver police spokesperson says the internal affairs department has completed its investigation, but they are now turning the case over to the independent police monitor. Police won't say if the officers were disciplined in any way until the investigation is complete.

Even the fortresses don't seem to be all that threatening. Then, you make your way to the end boss, and once that music starts playing, Yoshi's Island isn't all that peaceful anymore. Sure, everyone loves the final boss music (me included), but I gotta give credit to the end boss theme: it's pretty intense. This remix is interesting because I decided to put Yoshi in the song battling random bosses from the game. Yes, I know that Prince Froggy isn't an end boss, and Stilt Guy isn't even a boss in the game, but I needed more boss sounds, and I liked their SFX.
