551. Trappistes Rochefort 10 (Belgium) 05/06/11 Last of the three Trappistes Rocheforts. This Rochefort 10 is classified as a Belgian Quad and is one of my favourite syles. The 10 poured a dark rasin colour very similar to the both the 6 and the 8 but with a thin half pinky thin head. The aroma is even more complex than the 8. Even more dark fruits stong aroma. Taste blows the other two out of the water. This one is so smooth, so silky, and more complex and the flavours jump out twice as much. Rasin, plum, red grapes and a bit of brown sugar. This one is very sweet and coats the mouth nicely. Full bodied ale.

498. Westvleteren 12 (Belgium) 02/04/11 Nose on this one very complex. Tons of dark fruits. Rasins, plum, fig. Probably the softest most delicate beers I've had. Very smooth. Taste follows the nose. Less rasin though and more grape like wine flavour. Very well done.

It's kind of funny that the last two bottles I have of the Russian River Belgian series are Salvation and Damnation. I decided to go with Salvation first. I thought this would be RR's take on a Belgian quad or "strong dark ale," but this beer isn't soured or barrel-aged like the other two I've had.
