BMW Concept C. The future of Scooters made by BMW Motorrad. The future mobility in mega-cities has very special demands. BMW Motorrad is always working on a solution. That's why they built a concept, showing a completely new class of Motorbikes. It's a mixture between a scooter and a motorbike. It combines the best of these two. It's called the BMW Concept C ("C" stands for "commuter"). It has the conceptional comfort of a scooter and the agility of a motorbike.

Although there were some ups and downs with the weather, it certainly did not put off visitors attending the 11th BMW Motorrad Days. Over 30000 of them flocked to the international meeting organised by BMW Motorrad and Husqvarna Motorcycles from July 1st to 3rd, with Garmisch as the venue for the 10th time. The event was once again a resounding success for both the organisers and the municipality of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, as well as the large numbers of fans both with and without a motorcycle. The program of events, compered by hosts Viola Weiß and Stefan Galler on the Radio Gong stage, offered guests from all over the world a wide range of activities relating to BMW Motorrad and Husqvarna Motorcycles. And in addition to this there was a veritable potpourri of action, entertainment and party atmosphere.

BMW launched the most anticipated new sport bike in recent memory, the S 1000 RR, at the famed Monza racetrack, in Italy, during the Superbike World Championship race weekend on May 9th, 2009. This new Superbike from BMW weighing only 404 lbs, and putting out a massive 193 hp, is one of the most potent, sophisticated and lightest sport bikes ever unleashed on the planet. The new S 1000 RR is the most powerful production 1000cc sport bike in the world. In this connection, BMW Motorrad is expanding its business activities to include a new facet: that of "Urban Mobility". Building on almost 90 years of experienced in the field of motorised two-wheel vehicles, BMW Motorrad is drawing on the conceptual benefits of single-track vehicles to develop innovative solutions, adding a new dimension to the area of urban commuting. 30 Years of GS at the BMW Motorrad Days 2010
The tenth BMW Motorrad Days very much centred on the 30-year anniversary of the BMW GS models. There is virtually no other motorcycle that has shaped the character of the brand BMW Motorrad like the "GS". In September 1980, BMW Motorrad entered entirely new territory with this model which founded the segment of the large travel enduro bikes. The bold venture certainly paid off: the GS now is the top-selling motorcycle in its class in Europe.

BMW Motorrad GS Trophy Africa 2010 - Day 2
The South African team played to their home advantage to take a strong win in the first special test of the GS Trophy 2010, a navigation challenge. The first day saw the 10 international teams (30 riders) travel a 300km course, starting in Johannesburg and finishing at the Country Trax farm estate in Mpumalanga in the district of Amersfoort.

BMW Motorrad GS Trophy "Africa 2010"
The BMW Motorrad GS Trophy 2010 has reached its conclusion and despite very strong final day challenges, Team UK has emerged as the winner. The day involved a trials riding special test at the Country Trax estate (riding a BMW R 1200 GS), followed by a 300km return journey to Johannesburg where the results of the final photo competition were later announced. The trial involved sections containing a seesaw, tree logs and iron beams. Team South Africa won, while Team Nordic also outpointed Team UK for the runner-up. This reversed the points table, putting Team South Africa in the lead by one point with just the photo competition results to be decided. With scores of 152 to 151 Team UK regained the lead and took the GS Trophy title. Team Nordic were third just two points behind South Africa. www.carnutheaven.com
