Joe literally flew and then the car rolled. Testimony to the strength of the car and the safety features was that he was totally unhurt and neither the chassis nor the engine were damaged."

Active Cruise control with stop & go takes cruise control one step further as in addition to a predetermined speed being maintained your BMW can automatically maintain a constant distance from the vehicle in front. The vehicle uses a radar sensor to monitor the front of the vehicle from the bumper up to 150 metres ahead. Three different distance settings can be chosen from the buttons on the steering wheel. What could be more relaxing than arriving at your destination and your vehicle parking itself? Our BMW Park Assist system makes parallel parking as easy as possible. Once activated, all you need to do is drive past an available space, at a speed below 20mph and vehicle sensors calculate the manoeuvre for you. A number of driver assistance systems are available to ensure that you can see as clear as day even when you're driving at night. BMW Night Vision with pedestrian recognition uses an infrared camera located in the front kidney grille to detect people, animals or warm objects ahead of you that are out of reach of the headlights. The system analyses this data and determines whether a potential hazard exists, based on an objects position and whether it is within a 'warning corridor' defined by the vehicle's speed and steering angle.
