They are the company that purchased the assets of the Powercar company when they went under in 1967. Ford motor company wanted another Junior car for the introduction of the new body style in 1971 so they worked with Conval like they did with Powercar and provided a scale mold buck prior to the introduction of the new body style so that JR cars could be produced for opening day festivities to help draw crowds to the dealerships. The bodies are highly detailed unlike the pedal cars of the day that got most of their detail from stickers. The bodies are made from fiberglass just like the originals but with superior modern materials. These cars are meant to be ridden in and will fit most average size adults. Since this body style had been around for four years, they left the assembly plant pretty much perfect. Thunderbird advertising in 1971 asked the question, "Whatever happened to individuality?" As the curtain came down on one of the most interesting, and under-appreciated, body styles to ever bear the name Thunderbird, we wonder how long it will take for others to recognize how special these cars are. Will they someday climb to the ranks of the two seaters and Sports Roadsters? This white landau coupe with blue cloth interior represents the high water mark of the model. There are three "i" trims (i SV, i Sport and i Touring) and two upgraded "s" trims (s Sport and s Grand Touring). The hatchback comes only in the s trims. Mercedes-Benz first introduced the W123 four-door versions in January, 1976. While technically quite similar to their predecessors, the new models grew somewhat in terms of wheelbase and exterior dimensions and were given a more modern body that retained strong stylistical links with the /8 while at the same time incorporating more modern features.
