Decided to start a blog of mindless ramblings: hobobastard.wordpress.com Another test tracking using Boujou, this has taken me over 24 hours to pull off, turns out Boujou has a bug in it where it saves the first frame TWICE and has been on going since version 4 (i'm using 5) if when you export to Cinema 4D your text just isn't sticking properly (but the test objects in Boujou are perfect), when you export camera solve in Boujou set Start Index to 0 (instead of default 1) may or may not solve it, obviously depends if you have you geometry set correctly. Now, about this project. I don't have tutorial (it's simply too much to cover), but if u wanna do something similar: - Check out Andrew Kramers tutorial 74... for bouju, tutorial 72... for particle explosion - Get some Action Essentials 2 (AE2) for fire effects and smoke - Gunshot is lens flare and color corrected AE2 gun smoke - For the trees I used simple 2D After Effects tracking and placed masked solid with animated Fractal Noise and AE2 smoke - This little moving thing on a gun is simply 3D stroke - Animate Your particle emitter (trapcode) along a laser shot -- set low velocity - Use DigiEffects Berserk laser effect - For color correction I used Magic Bullet Looks -- one simple preset - Play around with blending modes for the effects -- for me Add worked just fine And that's it. If U really wanna go crazy you can use RayFire (3Ds Max) along with this technique. It took me over two weeks to put this project together. Looking forward to see what U guys can do. In this tutorial series i will be using After Effects for compositing. Boujou will be used for 3d tracking and i will show you how to use the target tracker and generate meshes inside Boujou. Then I am going to model and texture a couple of pots to place on the table. Photoshop will be used for texture editing. I will export different passes and composit them in after effects where i will add some motion blur with the plugin Reel smart motion blur.
