Massive anti-austerity protests in UK

The British government is moving to adopt tough austerity measures. These include making public sector workers retire later and pay more towards their pensions. In "the day of action" planned for Thursday, some of the biggest strike action seen across Britain in 30 years are expected. Thousands of people are expected to protest against the changes and cause chaos across the country. More than 3000 schools in England and Wales are closing for the day and long queues are expected at airports. Al Jazeera's Tim Friend reports from London, UK.

British National Party Justice for Charlene Protest. Nov 2011

The British National Party held a protest in Blackpool a few days ago to highlight the gross miscarriage of justice in the horrific murder case English school girl Charlene Downes at the hands of moslem child grooming rapists who have been linked to the grooming of 60 other children in Blackpool. The British National Party had the full support of the Downes family who took part in the protest. The protest also served to draw attention to the continued grooming activities in Blackpool and around the country, and the continued ignorance and unwillingness of politicians, police and local authorities to get to grips with this problem and start taking affirmative action to deal with moslem grooming gangs.

Britain's seeing its biggest protest yet against the deep cuts the country faces to tackle its massive debts. Tens of thousands of students are protesting against a planned hike in tuition fees which could see them treble to 9-thousand pounds a year. Violence flared briefly during the overwhelmingly peaceful protest as a handful of people smashed windows in a high-rise building that houses the headquarters of the Conservative Party, part of the governing coalition. Britain's Liberal Democrats, who are part of the coalition, pledged during the country's election campaign to abolish fees. RT on Facebook: www.facebook.com RT on Twitter: twitter.com

UK Government Orders YouTube to Censor Protest Video

In a frightening example of how the state is tightening its grip around the free Internet, it has emerged that You Tube is complying with thousands of requests from governments to censor and remove videos that show protests and other examples of citizens simply asserting their rights, while also deleting search terms by government mandate. The latest example is You Tube's compliance with a request from the British government to censor footage of the British Constitution Group's Lawful Rebellion protest, during which they attempted to civilly arrest Judge Michael Peake at Birkenhead county court. Peake was ruling on a case involving Roger Hayes, former member of UKIP, who has refused to pay council tax, both as a protest against the government's treasonous activities in sacrificing Britain to globalist interests and as a result of Hayes clearly proving that council tax is illegal. Hayes has embarked on an effort to legally prove that the enforced collection of council tax by government is unlawful because no contract has been agreed between the individual and the state. His argument is based on the sound legal principle that just like the council, Hayes can represent himself as a third party in court and that "Roger Hayes" is a corporation and must be treated as one in the eyes of the law. The British government doesn't want this kind of information going viral in the public domain because it is scared stiff of a repeat of the infamous poll tax riots of 1990, a massive tax ...

BREAKING NEWS - Iranian Protesters Storm UK Embassy In Tehran

Tehran, Iran (CNN) -- Iranian students stormed the British Embassy in Tehran Tuesday, breaking down the door, throwing around papers and replacing the British flag with an Iranian one. Iran's state-run Press TV reported that police had the incident under control, but Britain's Foreign Office called the situation "fluid" and said "details are still emerging." "There has been an incursion by a significant number of demonstrators into our Embassy premises, including vandalism to our property," the Foreign Office said. "We are outraged by this. It is utterly unacceptable and we condemn it." The Foreign Office added that "under international law, including the Vienna Convention," the Iranian government has "a clear duty to protect diplomats and Embassies in their country." The office said it asked the Iranian charge d'affaires in London "to urge the Iranian authorities to act with utmost urgency to ensure the situation is brought under control." It is now advising British nationals in Iran "to stay indoors, keep a low profile and await further advice." The incursion happened during a protest demanding that the British ambassador be sent home immediately. A crowd of about 1000 people gathered near the embassy for the anti-British demonstration, and had been peaceful before some participants stormed the building. A CNN producer saw students throwing stones at the embassy's windows. The Iranian Parliament voted Sunday to expel the ambassador and reduce diplomatic relations with ...

BANNED by UK Government: British Tax Protesters Arrest Judge in Act of "Lawful Rebellion"

03/08/2011 For those wondering whether we can expect to see anything like the scenes witnessed in Egypt coming to America or the United Kingdom, the actions of British protesters who engaged in "lawful rebellion" by attempting to arrest a judge yesterday could herald the beginning of a new tax revolt to rival the infamous poll tax riots of 1990. Just as the 2009 town hall confrontations gave birth to the modern incarnation of the Tea Party in the United States, with the organization having its early origins in the 2007 End the Fed protests involving Ron Paul supporters, could yesterday's events herald the beginning of a massive tax revolt movement set to sweep the UK? There were chaotic scenes as around 600 activists from the British Constitution Group massed around Birkenhead county court chanting "freedom," and "arrest that judge" as police with riot dogs attempted to hold them back. Protesters stormed the courtroom and civilly arrested Judge Michael Peake before escorting him from the building. Peake was eventually wrestled away from protesters by police as the activists chanted, "Do your job" to the police. Dozens more police arrived to set up blockades and numerous protesters were arrested. Peake was ruling on a case involving Roger Hayes, former member of UKIP, who has refused to pay council tax, both as a protest against the government's treasonous activities in sacrificing Britain to globalist interests and as a result of Hayes clearly proving that council tax is ...

GET READY UK - March 26th - The Day We Fight Back!

On 26th March the protests are coming to the UK. THIS IS GOING TO BE BIG! Change you CAN believe in. A huge demonstration of the whole working class movement, the trade unions, youth and communities suffering cuts will take place on 26 March. The march will certainly see hundreds of thousands -- perhaps over a million people take to the streets of London. The importance of this demonstration cannot be overemphasised. ... In the same way that the 10 November student demonstration kicked off a new youth movement that shook the Con Dems, this demonstration can be the start of a mass movement involving millions of people -- the whole of society -- in protests, occupations and strikes to nail the millionaire Tories into an early coffin. REVOLUTION has always been clear that the way to destroy this government is through a general strike -- where every trade unionist in Britain stops work at the same time, supported by millions on the streets. This is the message we will be bringing to the march, and if hundreds of thousands of young people attend to push this message, we will change the shape of Britain for years to come. And if we don't, the Con Dems will. So join the demonstration, and march with REVOLUTION! We will be meeting at the University of London Union, before 10am. UK's crackdown on Occupy LSX-The Real Deal-11-06-2011

www.presstv.com Protests about failed banks and bankers in the financial system have spread throughout the West. A while ago the occupy London camp on the steps of St. Paul's cathedral led to collateral damage which removed two leading clerics of the cathedral, the dean, Graeme Knowles and his canon, Giles Fraser. The campers were protesting about the obscene profits and serial catastrophes perpetrated by London's financial hub. "There is another obscenity and that is the completely democratic governance of the city and the rich bankers and traders there in. It is the dark heart of Britain where democracy goes to die or rather it has never actually been given birth. Its symbol is the Corporation of London which is seeking to evict protesters," George Galloway says. The corporation has its own police force. They have red and white checkers on their hats and helmets rather than the black and white ones of the metropolitan police. Meanwhile, there have been protests against capitalism in Oakland, California, where a general strike has effectively shut down the city's port and many central areas. On Wednesday the police raided in, using tear gas and flash bang grenades in an attempt to quell anti-wall street protesters.

Huge strike to hit UK public services-The Real Deal-11-27-2011

www.presstv.ir It will be the biggest walk out in decades when three million essential public service workers in Britain take a day off from their jobs in schools, hospitals and ports throughout Britain to protest about savage cuts to their pensions. The British government claims the strike will cost the country half a billion Pounds. Ministers even urged people to take their children to work with them as most schools were closed. The UK border agency which deals with the rivals at the airport and seaports is likely to be worst hit. Other civil servants have been offered 450 Pounds, almost five times the normal daily rate, to replace border agency workers. Even the agency's middle managers who have been trained to take over immigration and passport duties are likely to walk out. Meanwhile, there was a massive demonstration in Cairo's Tahrir Square on Friday. The Egyptian army has been using live ammunition on protesters. At least 22 protesters have been killed by live bullets since last Saturday.

Britain: Is the Church of England failing to practice what it preaches?-The Agenda-11-05-2011

www.presstv.com Protestors have managed to cause a rift in the Church of England with their sit-in and peace camp protest outside St Paul's cathedral. The Church is in the grip of a crisis of conscience surrounding its treatment of the anti-capitalist protest. Those camping outside the cathedral, which was shut for the first time since the Blitz, last Friday, were campaigning to topple the capitalist system, but have only succeeded so far in creating division within the Church. A legal bid to remove the 200 tents of Occupy London was launched by the Dean of St Paul's, the Right Reverend Graeme Knowles, who says he is optimistic the cathedral, which is in the heart of London's financial district, will reopen to the public. Richard Chartres, the Bishop of London and third most senior cleric in the Church of England, has also called on the protesters to go. But one of the cathedral's chapter members, Canon Giles Fraser, was understood to have threatened to resign if the church tried to rid its grounds of the demonstrators. In this edition of the show we ask: Britain: Is the Church of England failing to practice what it preaches?

Citizens of Britain, We are Anonymous. The riots that we have witnessed over the last week, whilst violent and misguided, are a product of decades of neglect inflicted on your country by various governments. We do not condone mindless thuggery, but that does not stop us from seeing the reality behind it. Your politicians and the media do their best to avoid seeing that reality. They would rather manipulate public anger in order to cloud judgment and create division. They will use these riots as an excuse to withdraw civic freedoms, increase draconian police powers, and discourage legitimate protest. By placing their emphasis on mindless criminality, your politicians mask the extent to which a significant section of society is stuck in an impoverished way of life with little hope for the future. Anonymous senses your displeasure and witnesses the iron fist of the state being used more and more often to put down dissent before it begins. We note also the ever increasing tide of propaganda issued to justify these repressive acts. The law is no longer the protector of the citizens but the protector of a wealthy few from the many, who have very little. Justice has become yet another commodity that only the wealthy can afford. We sympathise with the anger that seethes under the facade of your country's diplomatic image. OCCUPY LONDON - Police Criticised For Using Disproportionate Force On Protesters

Some anti-capitalist protesters have accused police of using disproportionate force, as officers tried to stop a camp being set-up near the Stock Exchange in the City of London. Hundreds of demonstrators, who are angry at the influence of banks on Government policy, want to occupy the financial district. The movement - which originally started in the US financial centre Wall Street - is now spreading across the world, including in Rome where protests turned violent. On Saturday, thousands of people descended on the area around London's Stock Exchange in an attempt to replicate large Occupy Wall Street demonstrations taking place in New York. Around 300 protesters are thought to have spent the night in tents outside St Paul's Cathedral, after police cordoned off the home of the exchange in Paternoster Square. Portable toilets, a make-shift kitchen, a first aid centre and a press tent were also set up. The demonstrators taking part in the Occupy London Stock Exchange protest have told Sky News they plan to stay "for as long as it takes". Scotland Yard had said it would be "illegal and disrespectful" to camp in front of the cathedral. But a spokesman for the Metropolitan Police later said: "We are not going to move anyone at this time."
