HUNDREDS of Peaceful Protestors on Brooklyn Bridge Arrested by NYPD.. #OccupyWallStreet

On October 1, 2011, 700+ peaceful protesters were arrested while on a march across the Brooklyn Bridge. According to the AP: More than 700 protesters demonstrating against corporate greed, global warming and social inequality, among other grievances, were arrested Saturday after they swarmed the Brooklyn Bridge and shut down a lane of traffic for several hours in a tense confrontation with police. The group Occupy Wall Street has been camped out in a plaza in Manhattan's Financial District for nearly two weeks staging various marches, and had orchestrated an impromptu trek to Brooklyn on Saturday afternoon. They walked in thick rows on the sidewalk up to the bridge, where some demonstrators spilled onto the roadway after being told to stay on the pedestrian pathway, police said.

Protesters started marching up the pedestrian walk way over the bridge while others tried to take the traffic lane. For a few minutes officers held the line and then they turned around and led the way up the traffic lane on the Brooklyn Bridge. From what I saw no police told any of the protesters to leave until they created a barricade in front of the march about halfway through the bridge. They then pulled vans and buses up to the back of the group and started arresting everyone. In total over 700 people were arrested.

700 Arrested on Brooklyn Bridge as Occupy Wall Street Enters Third Week, Protests Grows Nationwide

www.DemocracyNow.org - The "Occupy Wall Street" protests in the financial district took a dramatic turn on Saturday when protesters tried to march across the Brooklyn Bridge. When police arrested 700 of the demonstrators, the event quickly turned into one of the largest arrests of non-violent protesters in recent history. Some protesters claim police lured them onto oncoming traffic on the bridge's roadway; others said they did not hear instructions from police telling them to use the pedestrian walkway. Meanwhile, similar "Occupation" protests have spread to other cities, including Chicago, Boston and Los Angeles, where hundreds of protesters are now camped out in front of City Hall. We host a roundtable discussion with Marisa Holmes, an organizer with the main organizing group of Occupy Wall Street, called the General Assembly, Marina Sitrin, an attorney who is part of Occupy Wall Street's legal working group, and Laurie Penny, a writer and journalist who reported on protests in London earlier this summer For the complete transcript, podcast, and for additional Democracy Now! interviews about Occupy Wall Street, visit www.democracynow.org FOLLOW DEMOCRACY NOW! Brooklyn Bridge Arrests Funded by JP Morgan-Luke Rudkowski WeAreChange Reporting

JP Morgan Funded NYPD Mass Arrests Over 700 Peaceful Occupy Wall Street Protesters www.theintelhub.com October 2, 2011 The NYPD has arrested over 700 protesters who were occupying the Brooklyn Bridge in what could very well be a defining moment in the battle for freedom and liberty in America. The police apparently corralled the protesters(depending on whose story you believe) onto the Brooklyn Bridge and then started their arrests of American citizens protesting the very banks that have destroyed this country from within. The NYPD is essentially doing the dirty work for the banks, which makes complete sense when you consider the fact that JP Morgan actually FUNDS The New York City Police Department. That's right, the very police department that has been filmed numerous times beating and macing the Occupy Wall Street protesters has received a considerable amount of money from the very banks that the protesters are targeting! www.infowars.com (Special Thanks to, Luke Rudkowski of WeAreChange) www.wearechange.org (WeAreChange YouTube Channel) www.youtube.com www.facebook.com www.twitter.com _________________________________________ www.infowars.com http www.infowars.net http twitter.com SIGN UP FOR A MEMBERSHIP (FULL ACCESS to all files and content on PrisonPlanet.tv) prisonplanet.tv _________________________________________ The Light of the World,Movie(Full Length) www.youtube.com

NYPD Arresting a Child with the Over 700 Occupy Wall Street Protesters On The Brooklyn Bridge

About 700 people from the Occupy Wall Street protest movement, including child have been arrested on New York City's Brooklyn Bridge. Those arrested were part of a larger group crossing the bridge from Manhattan, where they have been camped out near Wall Street for two weeks. The New York City police department say that they began arresting people because they had spilled from the pedestrian section of the bridge onto the roadway and were blocking traffic. Protesters claim they were led onto the road by police and essentially trapped so they could be arrested. The loosely-organised group is protesting against corporate greed. They say they are defending 99% of the US population against the wealthiest 1%. On Wednesday October 5,NYPD did another brutality again ,hit protesters and media with baton and pepper spray. Part of the group heads up the roadway with police appearing to lead demonstrators along. The feeling was that the police allowed marchers on the roadway to move people across bridge quickly. People climb down from walkway to join people on the street - nobody tells them not to. Marchers are allowed about a third of the way up the bridge, then the orange netting came out and trapped the protesters, people are not allowed to leave the bridge. Police handcuff and arrest demonstrators one by one - reportedly over 700 arrested.

It was estimated that more than a thousand protesters made their way to Brooklyn Bridge and several hundred walked in the eastbound car lanes stopping traffic. "They were warned not to walk on the roadway — the people that walked on the pedestrian walkway, there was no issue — the ones on vehicular roadway, they chose to anyway, and they were arrested," a police spokesperson said. The NYPD brought in off-duty MTA buses to take those arrested away. Those arrested were expected to be charged with disorderly conduct, and others may be charged with additional offenses. Marcel Cartier talking about Brooklyn Bridge arrests on Russia Today

"This has the potential to be the embryo of a very broad fight back movement," rapper and activist Marcel Cartier told RT on Monday. Two days earlier, he was among the 700 arrested on the Brooklyn Bridge. "My question to the NYPD: did you really think that it was a tactically intelligent decision to arrest 700 people?" asked Cartier. "I think it actually had the opposite effect." Cartier added that after being apprehended, he bonded with his brethren that were among those arrested. "We turned those jails into centers of organizing," said Cartier. "It was definitely a very energizing experience -- it charged me up." "It made me more committed to the cause and now I really want to see this moment succeed," he added. "It gives me so much energy, so much vision to go further."
